Many thanks to everyone who came along to the day and those who put in a bit more to help keep the place clean and tidy during the day, Amanda and Dave especially,
Thank You.

Now onto the day, well from the feedback Lyn and I got this may well have been the best care & share day ever, with Colin coming from a decorating background he looks at the twisting world from a different angle than the entertainers. Difficult to explain unless you were there but the woven heart, simply stunning just about sums it up.
So Colin thanks for coming down to do the David Grist Memorial Lecture, it was very much appreciated by all, so much so that we have decided to have Colin back again next year for a normal care & share day. It was lovely to see Vanessa again and she was thrilled to see the excellent turnout in memory of David.
I will try and post a few pictures tomorrow when we get home tomorrow.

Yeppers, it was a great day - glad I decided to go. Nice to meet friends I have made during the Care and Share Days I have been to, and Colin did David Grist memorial Lecture proud.

A real buzz around the room for the whole 8 hours, and the lunch was good too. Thanks, Lyn.

I second Dave's comments - it was simply a fantastic day all round. Great to catch up with the folks I've met before, and to meet new ones. Many thanks to Graham for organising this, and to Colin for so generously sharing a vast array of techniques, models and tips with us, all in the name of his dear friend.

Unfortunately, I never met David, but I can't help being moved by the affection and respect all who knew him have for him, and the huge esteem in which he is still so rightly held.

Thanks again Graham and Colin.

--Neil

This was a fantastic thing to be a part of. David Grist's legacy is the wonderful spirit of sharing and learning that continues in his name thanks to his friends and colleagues. A beautiful thing for Vanessa who is a lovely lady. Thank you to all involved for your hard work. And what a day of learning it was. That was the BEST balloon class I have ever been to. Colin bangs on about not being an entertainer, but teaches with the most laid back wit, charisma and passion for his subject that I've seen. Lots of new and usable designs with the wow factor, and new and better ways to do old favourites. Most of all Colin is a hero because he's made me conquer my nemesis - the one that so many have tried to teach me, but never succeeded.... - that chuffing woven flower is finally in my repertoire. Yippee! Prepare to see those blighters all over London this weekend.
I had a brilliant time hanging out with everyone - so many laughs.
Dave, thank you so much for the lift - you are a true gentleman!
