Thanks to Graham for asking me to do the 'David Grist Memorial lecture' It is a great honour for me to do
this. Part of the lecture will indeed be the woven heart, I have a list of designs to make, but I am happy
if any one has any specific requests to include that in the lecture.
I look forward to seeing everyone in September, and will try to leave my Dundee accent at home
Colin

We only have 2 spaces left at the early bird special of £15 and then the price increases to £25

All the early bird tickets have gone but it's still a bargain at £25 to see Colin Myles who has just won an award in the Dewey's 2009 Balloon Excellence Awards,
"Career Contributor" for all his excellent work for the balloon industry over the years. So Colin lecturing all day and a buffet lunch as well.

Due to now having sponsorship for the day the price of the £25 ticket now includes the buffet lunch and a £10 voucher to spend on balloons at the day if you register by the end of the month.

Really looking forward to it :D Can someone recommend a good hotel by the event in Birmingham :?: I’m in Wolverhampton the night before for Kidology but fly out of Birmingham on Thurseday. Looking forward to meeting some of you there. Many thanks Royston.

We are stopping at a motorway service station so not a good idea for you as I'm guessing you will not have a car.
On magic Bunny they are staying here, http://www.magicbunny.co.uk/phpBB3/view ... t=kidology
There are many more threads about hotels on the site but I know they go out for a meal the night before so you may want to do a search there for more details?

We have 28 people booked in so far for next Wednesday and I'm very pleased and chuffed to say that Vanessa, David's wife will be joining us again for the day and coming out after for a meal. Still time to book though and to take part in winning a free registration for The millennium jam, the winner will be announced at the day in the afternoon just in case we get a late flood of entries on the day. I'm SO looking forward to this, and will be driving down from Edinburgh, leaving about 4.00am Wed morning to head to Birmingham. But - to be part of it and to hear Colin's advice, experience, and to learn from him - will be more than worth the long drive (in both directions!) If you've not booked to be part of this - you have no idea what you'll be missing...
