Hi

I have been trying to do a Pudsey for a children in need event, something like Twistina's giant one on here http://www.balloonchat.co.uk/viewtopic. ... dsey#p7464 , for a Children in need event. I can do the head, but was wondering if the arms and legs are made with 4 balloons to get the rounded ends or is there is a trick I am missing? Any clues would be appreciated.

Thanks
Nikki

I would assume each nice end is the good end of a balloon so the body will take at least 4 balloons. Unless I am missing something there is no way you could neaten up a knot that well ;)

Was not successful at creating Giant Pudsey's body for tonight's event, but will keep trying though and if I manage to do it, will send one to school next Friday for their Children in Need Fundraiser instead.

Okay, I give up! My pudsey body is too bendy in the middle - the 4 long bits bend away from each other leaving a gap through the middle and his legs don't hang nicely - I'm obviously missing something. Twistina, is this type of body on one of your dvd's? If so, which one? Can anyone help? If not, I guess I shall have to wait until one of next year's care and share days ....

Hi,

I'm sure you're just being hard on yourself the school would probably love what you have made!

Post some pics of what you have made so far and maybe we can give you advice based on what we can see. I had 6 attempts at making the body the same as twistina's. Each 1 came out different to find which worked best.

I have to make a big one for friday, as i'm off to the television studio for children in need. Hope it gets spotted and used. Fingers crossed.

Hi! Sorry I have had so many commitments lately, I have only just caught up with this post. I was hoping to do full instructions for Giant Pudsey but time has beaten me
The body is made from four equal size bubbles with 2 pinch twists at the top separating the arms. What is probably giving you the difficulty is that the legs are completely separate and added afterwards.

With the first 646/ 660, Make one or two body bubbles first and one pinch twist for the neck. The rest will become the arm. Repeat and twist together to create the above formation. Depending on how much balloon you need left for the arm and wether you are using Q's or the longer S's, you may need to add another balloon in order to get the four bubbles for the body.
For each leg, make approx a 10" bubble in the end of a 646/660 tie off leaving a tail of about 3". Now pass the tails of the leg bubbles through the centre of the four balloon body cluster on either side of the body (where the hips would be) And tie together inside the cluster so that the leg bubbles are snug against the body. The legs can now be positioned at a pleasing angle with out sticking out un-naturally.

Good luck and I Hope this helps!
I will try to do more comprehensive instructions for next year, someone remind me nearer the time but do give me a couple of months notice!

Thanks Twisterella, I have managed to make the small ones, and yes, I am sure the school will be happy with those - it's the shame of being beaten by a tube of latex which is bugging me!

And thank you so much Twistina! I know you have been very busy, so thank you for your notes, I thought it was the arms which were separate! No wonder his legs were going skew-iff! I won't get a chance to have a proper go until later on, and hopefully I will get the hang of it.

Good Luck Magicadie with getting yours on TV - should we keep an eye out on Friday night's broadcast?

I'm not holding out much hope. I'm going to make it, take it, and see what happens. I'm sure i'll let you know after the event if i made it on or not. It will be from the halifax/Yorkshire region.
