I have been playing with a weave that I saw at the Millennium Jam last year. Sabina made a fish on a plate. It was a beautiful piece of work. I was thinking about making a vase yesterday morning because I had promised someone I would make a vase of flowers. I was about to do the normal weave but I then thought it would be nice to come up with something a bit different. I was not sure how to do Sbina's weave. She did show us but it was a case of in the brain and back out again. But I think I sussed it out. The first picture with the green background is the first attempt. I had another go last night and made a tidier version and then fussed it up with a base.

A step by step . . . ?? :D :D

That's a beautiful vase and flowers!!

If you don't mind me saying I actually prefer the first one, it's less fussy. It's great to think that you reproduced it just from memory though.

I'm just getting to grips with the flowers - never mind the vase ;)

Very nice, is there a name for that weave? you could make a peacock with it.

It is a weave designed by Sabina Keller from Austrie. She made a fish with it at the M.Jam and it was fantastic. This weave made lovely scales. I have been playing with the peacock ides as well. It works really well.
