Hi all, im about to invest in a decent pump and need your help.
Do I go for the fab looking Filbert or A Maxi ????

Or will it be the Battery Bumbag Type ????

What works best for you?

I wish I could try either but cant so your comments are all welcome

Hi Keeley,

I have used the battery bum bag pumps before, but found them to be too noisey, and a bit heavy. Also If you forget to re charge them, and they run down, you are stuck.

The filbert loos good, but the bright colours I think would attract kids to play about with it, like a toy.

Earlier this year I bought a Mac pump from Graham, and would reccomend it 100 % It is solid and reliable, easy to carry with a strap over your shoulder (I made a slight addaptation to the strap) and is FAB !!!!!!!!

PS Thanks for your tip re sharpies at Tesco :D

If you are coming to any of the days I normally have my filbert and Mcpumps for you to try, you have to go direct to buy the filbert but I can supply you with a Mcpump.

Hi I have had both electric and manual and I would say manual.

I have found the electric to noisy (got on my nerves if not the customers) I have had a filbert for a long time now I think it is ove 3 years and it has been brilliant (not found a problem with it being thought of as a toy). I have just got a second one as my daughter sometimes twists with me now and I liked the I dear of having a spare as I did drop a helium canister on it, and cracked the top cap (Filbert replaced free of charge). I have seen the Mack and it seems good but I am use to my filbert and just love it.

Try them all before making a decision.

I use electric pump, noise is not a problem for me as I am a LOUD anyway.

You will find it a pain to wear as a bum bag for long periods of time.

I'm in peterborough if every you are around you are welcome to drop by to check out what I use.

Fuzz

Hi Keeley,

I have various pumps including an electric bum-bag pump and a Filbert.

The Filbert is much more of a 'workhorse' pump than the electric pump, which I only use in busy venues where I am on the move a lot. The Filbert is faster also.

I would definitely say either the Filbert or Mac, whichever looks most appealing to you. No one has ever thought my Filbert was a toy either although it does get a lot of attention.

Martin.

As far as I remember it was quite quick, about 2 weeks I think.

Filbert makes his pumps in batches and so if you mail him first then he will let you know when the next production run is.

Mine is very colourful... completely black!

I have my Filbert (Bert) whom I love dearly and cannot imagine life without. I've had him about a year now and he arrived very quickly but I managed to contact him just as he was about to do a batch so mine was ordered and shipped within a few days :D

I would say though don't go for anything too colourful as kids are easily attracted to mine (red, yellow and blue) and I do frequently have to remind them it's not a toy. That being said I still love it and he comes on all my balloon jobs with me. Would offer you a play but you are the opposite end of Cambs to me so prob way too far to travel to have a play.
