Hi all, firstly I hope everyone is doing well and you all have a great Christmas and heres hoping for a wonderful 2015.

Secondly I am after some advice. I got back in contact with a school mate of mine a while back and we meet up from time to time when we can. I popped around to see him this last weekend after doing n event and took his daughter an Olaf sculpture for her recent 4th birthday.
During our conversation he and his wife asked me if I could make an angel with helium balloons.
Each January 15 for the last few years they have released a 'chinese lantern in memory of their son Max who was born on Nov 24 and passed away on Jan 15. We send our angel back to up to heaven they said to me, but are a worried about continuing to use lanterns, if you could make an angel  to 'send' upthat would just be amazing.
I said I didn't think I could do it with helium filled balloons but I would try to make an angel sculpture, and suspend it from helium balloons to fly it.
If anyone has any better suggestions then I am open for them. also, what angel is the best does everyone think, I have done a search and seen a couple but am wondering what you wonderful folk may think. I am honoured to have been asked to do this, I always try to do the very best I can but this is extra special.

Thanks for reading this and any help you can offer will be very gratefully accepted.

I think attaching 3/4/5 11" rounds is the way to go John depending on how big or small the angel is.
That way you just have to decide on what angel you like or can you print two or three off and let them decide.

That sounds a beautiful idea

These balloons might look nice to fill with helium to launch the Angel

I have also heard of people putting wild flower seeds in helium balloons, so when the balloons burst, the seeds are scattered, and will grow as a living memory.
Kind regards

This is a lovely idea. I also love the idea of adding seeds to scatter in their memory and start new life somewhere

Thanks for your thoughts and comments.

I think that 3 or 4 helium balloons should do the trick. poke to my local party shop today and he reckoned the same but we will check once I have done the sculpture.

I like that idea of the wild flower seeds, brilliant, I will ask them if they would like to do that.

I like the Angel that Areyouahappydad posted recently, I may try that.

I will update as my efforts happen which will now be in the New Year as my daughters Birthday is looming followed by Christmas and then most importantly my Birthday.

Many thanks for those that offered thoughts and advice, especially areyouahappydad, I succeeded in my goal and am pleased to say my friends were very happy despite the sadness of the day.

I made an angel along the lines of the one made by areyouahappydad on here recently that is based on one by Fu Boon I believe.
This was suspended from two 16 inch helium balloons that I had put Mother of Pearl poppy seeds in as my friends said Max had been a proper little soldier and battled every day of the 52 he lived.
They were really really happy with what I delivered to them and sent me some pics of when they released it and sent their angel back to heaven with the help of their little daughter.
It was a bit windy but went ok in the end they told me.
