If you both send me in a private mail your passwords etc I'll log in from this end & see what happens.
I did post & look around under Dave2 and everything was all right.
The techno guy has had a look at the settings etc & he said all was OK.

Ozzy,

I signed in under your name & looked around for about 15 mins put a post up and everything seemed OK.
Looks like another mystery of life, not sure what else to suggest although I am going to see my web guy on Tuesday & will mention it again to him.
Perhaps if there are any techno people on the forum they may have some suggestions.

Wim out techno man on the forum who helped set the site up for me has not been online for a while as his computer crashed & he is building his own new one & he also has a few internet problems at the moment but he kindly sent this over for those that are having trouble staying logged in & he is pretty certain it will cure the problems for you.
This is what he sent over;

About your problem.
My first impression is that I would try another approach.
Ask the people who have these problems to empty there cache and (important) to remove there cookies. You can do that in Internet Explorer in the menu Extra, Options and then on the first tab, browser history. Click that you want to empty that and then it asks you what to remove. Choose at least cookies and history, but preferably everything.

You can try my suggestion first, it is easy to test. Ask Dave íf he wants to be your test person. If I am right (and I think I am) then you should know soon enough.
If not, no harm done and you can think of something else.
I hope that I'll be back online soon!!

Wim

Hope it sorts out the problems for you.

I've been having this problem for several weeks with getting logged out when ever I try to post. Also when I am logged in, I can not log out via the " Log out" button!
I just cleared the cache as per the instructions here, so if this gets posted okay, I know that it has worked!
Fingers crossed!

Well that seemed to work okay :D

however I tried loggng out and got the message "You were not logged out, as the request did not match your session. Please contact the board administrator if you continue to experience problems"
Not too worried about this as I am using my own computer not a shared one where someone could post using my identity.

Hi Twistina,

Have you recently upgraded to Internet Explorer 8 by any chance? The reason I ask is because I recently upgraded and then had similar problems to you. After a couple of days of problems, I uninstalled IE8 and it all works OK again. Just a thought!!

I also had these problems (with all passworded sites) when I was using Firefox and switched to IE and now it works okay but IE does keep crashing on me

I have problems on my computer at home.  It will let me log in, look around but when I go to post it asks for my id & password again but shows me logged in already at the bottom of the main page & won't let me log in to post.  However, on my computer at work (where I am now) I have no problems with being / staying logged in or posting.  And it automaticly keeps me logged in here too.

So Billy, you said you uninstalled IE8 & it worked fine?  I can't remember what I have at home.  I'll have to check tonight.  That could be the problem!

I am running IE8 and Windows 7 and have no problems whatsoever

I am running IE8 now but had the problem of getting logged out before I could post prior to that when I had IE7.  Clearing the cache seems to have solved this.
I have only just noticed the problem of not being able to intentionally log out though since IE8. Anyone else getting this problem?
