I think it would be a good name to have if at a sensible price for those that do décor.
Now maybe the discussion could be what do you think a sensible price would be?

Don't forget it has free P+P  :D

What if balloontwister.co.uk was available or childrensentertainer.co.uk what would you pay for those?
For £1500 that may only be 4/5 jobs to pay for itself and if someone was looking for balloon décor on the internet you would instantly come up as number one in the search engine with no effort on the website. I would say that it possibly is a good name to get even at £1500 for the serious decorator.

I looked into acquiring balloonanimals.com once.

They wanted $7,000 US for it.

The domain has been squatting ( doing nothing) for as long as I can remember.

Only one of the names still has a site attached to it.. so SEO, key words and tags would work..

The rest seem dormant...

Think you need all elements these days not just a domain name

do people type in balloon decor or balloon decorator now if looking for balloons.. I think they just type in balloons and the area name more so these days

I know how to physically make a website but don't understand how you make it as "visible" as possible. Anyone know if a thread on this bit? Tried search and it bought up loads of threads on websites but couldn't find this bit. Sorry if I am asking what might seem like a daft question to most :( thanks in advance for any help xxx

I think you have to put key words into each page name when the site is built, then have a blog page would help a little like the news page on the forum here.
The more you can link to other sites and they link back helps but there is no one thing that will put you on page one of Google unless those searching put in balloon décor and then if your website was called balloon décor, bingo.

All these companies that ring up and say they will put you on page one of Google, ask them there company name and ask them to wait a while, Google search them, are they on page one??

There's a really good course about SEO  on Lynda.com I watched all of it with no prior knowledge and found it to be easy to understand.

I think Pam has a very good point about what people search for, which was recommended to me when looking for a domain name.

As I don't drive, I have to keep my work local (in Weymouth) and I do balloons, so my website is www.funtimeballoonsweymouth.co.uk

Now, if anyone searches for balloons in Weymouth I come out tops !!
Kind regards
Kevin
