I have been feeling strangely inspired lately. I am a young guy in a small town and want to make a mark of some sort. I have this image in my mind of my town covered in balloons. Really this idea is to big in my mind to handle. I want to make it happen. Not a bunch of really big things but abundance of obscure little ones. I have no idea if it will work. Like I said the idea is to big, in my mind at least. I just need a handful of second opinions.

As always,

I think its a fun idea, go for it!!

you might have to create some publicity though if you want it to be something people look out for and of course any 'art' may be removed by the finder - which is something you will have to overcome.

why not team up with a shopping centre/large shop and offer them the 'service' for free, making it something for shoppers/children to discover and 'encouraging' them to visit the shop?

Do you have a town event take place during the course of the year you could get involved with?

You could get involved with different people in different areas and create for them. Check out if your local council has an events team and contact them to discuss the possibilities

We got involved with our local town Childrens festival & Summer Carnival a few years back as a way of saying thank you to the townsfolk for the work they gave us and a way of working on a VERY large sculpture. We created an interactive Circus themed balloon maze on one of the local community tennis courts which was on the same parkland as the carnival took place (be prepared this had to be redesigned a few days before the event as we where using steel framework and had thunder & lightning storms) ... It went so well we did it a second time as a pirate ship theme the following year... As well as being supported and funded by our local council for the childrens entertainment acts also involved we also where very fortunate to have the balloons supplied and sponsored by balloon manufacturers, which helped keep our costs down...It still cost us personally a lot of time and money, but was very satisfying and kept us in high local profile... they are still talked about locally years on..

Good luck with whatever you decide
