I have just got the latest delivery of balloon magic with a nice two page article spread on Tonya With full details for her excellent elf design.

I loved the designs but disappointed that we get Christmas designs in January!! Now have to wait to use them! Shops get organised for Christmas early!!

In their defence it is really hard to get a magazine published and distributed before Christmas.  It is even more so when it is a quarterly magazine and you don't have much time from finishing the Autumn issue before work starts on the Winter one.  You also have the printers turn around to deal with and then distribution not only to the exporters (I am assuming it is published in the US?) but the distribution time from Pioneer.  It all takes time.

Can you tell I used to run a quarterly Mag?

I did edit my previous post and took down about it being a shame that we get the balloon magic Christmas edition in Jan.
It has been running a few years now, perhaps all the editions need to move back a month as the Winter edition should reach us end Nov or early Dec.

It is tight as each issue certainly took me the 4 months to put together, get to the printers, them to print it and for it to be sent out to members by someone else and that was when things were running smoothly.  

The thing I was trying to instigate before I handed over the reigns of the Mag was to try and get each holiday in the issue BEFORE the one it should be iykwim?  i.e. winter issue would have summer designs in, Autumn would have Chinese New Year, St Patrick's Day and Valentine's day in.  This way it doesn't matter if there are a few delays and it also give less experienced people the chance to get the hang of it before the big event. A lot less pressure all round but it is a stressful job.

I can see an understand the problem. Oh well with 11 months to practise I will be fast and twist effect for next year.

Thing is Snurb unless you've done a job like that you wouldn't know just felt the need to explain

That is a bummer that you all didn't get the issue before Christmas.  :cry:  

The good news is...by using alternate colored 321s that little elf can be used for lots of different characters.  
I use this design to make clowns, leprechauns, santas, elves, and jesters. An upcoming Balloon Magic (I think in September) there will be instructions for a little devil. And I haven't done it yet...but what about maybe cupid?
For people in the U.S., it could be used for Uncle Sam for the 4th of July.

Can anyone else think of other characters?
