I must admit the main reason I bought mine today is that it looks the part.  I agree with Graeme that turning up with more equipment can create the perception of value for money whereas turning up with a bag of balloons can make you look like a hobbyist (regardless of whether you are or not  ;) ).  Also I am tired of having hand pumps jam on me and I am hoping that this will not do the same.

I hadn't really thought about the Wow factor, Like Billy  I saw the filbert at the Jam, and it looked perfect. I'm hoping that when I get the filbert it will actually encourage me to use a pump instead of blowing them up by mouth.

I used to use an electric pump, which was in front of me and just required the pressing of the button, I've tried using a hand pump, but couldn't get into the habit of using it and kept returning to mouth inflation, just using the pump for a few balloons when I got knackered. Plus I found the pump didn't do my bad elbow much good.

As the the filbert will in the same position as the electric pump was I feel I'll actually use it, plus it will help my elbow. The added wow factor which, now I think about it, will be there would be an added bonus.
Yours Funfully

So far so good, ordered my pump yesterday and received an email saying it was also posted yesterday. Great service. :)

I made a review on the other forum overseas: in the meantime Andy made some improvements.

Graeme you will not regret it as you know I have a Filbert and it has just been wonderful. I looked at the mac pump but did not like the lack of non return valve and the Filbert just seemed a little cleaner designed.

What colours did you go for?
When it comes to the day I arive at the pearly gates I hope to slide in sideways saying to st Peter WOW!!! what a ride.

Sorry to hijack your thread Billy but my new pump has arrived and never having used one before am after a little advice for inflating balloons.  I bought the original one in this thread and am having problems inflating a balloon fully as it does not seem to start inflating as I start pushing (does that make any sense) and I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or whether I am just being a wimp  :?

Pull the outer tube up fully & hold the balloon very tight around the nozzle as you push down.
Hope that helps wimp

Yvonne Does it produce a wow as you pump up the balloon ?

Also practice a bit and you will soon have the hang of it  :D

I think it will do once I have the hang at the moment it looks like a wimp fighting with an oversized pump  :?  I can see where the other pump would have been better but time and money restraints mean I have this one but I think it will do a grand job and if I start getting more bookings in I may well invest in the Filbert.

Billy Wizz,
Has your pump arrived yet? Just wondered what the total UK £ cost was? And most of all, if you like it?

I have just been on the Filbert pump website, the current quote is 140 us dollars shipped to Europe the currency converter makes this about £86, the current waiting time for shipment seems to be 6 weeks, but what Ive seen of these pumps it would be well worth waiting for.

It's bugging me now. Peter from Filbert Pumps was brilliant, he replied saying they are available now. So I ordered it the same day, the next day he sent it (3rd Dec) it arrived in UK customs on the 5th, really fast eh? But according to the 'Track & Confirm' link I received by email, it's still in friggin customs. :(

The final cost incuding postage was $140 which worked out at £96.70.

Customs are a nightmare! they may even put tax ontop of that, so keep us all posted mate! £96 does seem a little steep for a pump IMO, but I may end up buying one just after christmas!
