Graeme,

I think that is the cardboard one, it;s made from a cardboard roll effect, like they wrap carpet around & postal tubes.

So it depends on the quality of the outside decorated part as to how much dampness & moisture it takes on board.

I'm sure someone from the forum has one, possibly proffesor t wist

Thanks Graham. If it's any good, my plan is to re-design the decor to my own style and get printed professionally. I'm not that keen on the decor it already has, but I like the size/style of it.

Yes I have one, it was bought for me nearly a year ago.
I have to say I like it, but I have never used another 'big' pump so others any be better.
The base/stand was a bit brittle and suffered during a fully loaded
trip home from holiday and I have replaced it with a wooden board and have a couple of ideas to update that in a nicer style.
It works a treat though and I like it.
I am hoping to get to the day in January and will bring it along if anyone wants to look at it.
Shout out if you have any questions on anything I have not said

it looks pretty but  cheap but costs alot if you want a good steady pump and dont want to pay a fortune then look a the filbert pump here //http://www.filbertpump.com this is the one i have and i swear by it. it´s light, strong and can take a good battering and comes in many colours also the middle is white so you can do what you want there i got mine airbrushed when i get some pics i will post them.

I wanted the Filbert pump but there seems to be a waiting list. I've emailed him twice now but he doesn't seem to reply to his emails.

I saw the Filbert pump at the last care and share day, and was really impressed.  I have tendenitis in my left arm and twisting and pumping is not very good for it, this pumps one stroke movement will do my elbow a world of good.

There's a 6 week waiting list but I havn't got any soley twisting gigs this month, all mine are parties and magic shows, and not all of them involve balloons for all the kids, so as there's no rush I'm going to order one in the new year.

I works out about  a total of £94ish but of course the customs guys may add a bit on top.

You must have posted the same time as me Graeme,

The pump you mention is only £49 so you could get to use now, especially as you're so busy at Endleigh this month. Then if it's OK you keep it, if not you could order a Filbert and put the cheaper one in reserve.

For my opinion: the mini Maclight is the best one around. Good communication with Andy and fast delivery.

interesting post, i've never really thought about getting a large 1 stroke pump, but they do look good!
How much are the mini mac ones? And how much are the filbet ones?

Also guys, what benifits do these have over the small pumps? Obviously quicker, and if your doing alot then possible better (havnt got 1 so dont know)

Thanks
Jordan

To be honest Jordan, I don't really know why I'm buying it. I liked the look of it (The Filbert) when I saw it at the Jam and thought it's something different to try while balloon modelling.

My thoughts are often that when I turn up with just my balloon bag or apron, it doesn't look much. The balloons being made provide the WOW factor, but I want to try and look more than just a guy with a bag of balloons.

So I built my balloon box shown in a previous post, which now sits nicely on a box I use for my normal shows, inside the lower box is a speaker which plays kids party music while I'm working and I want this pump to add a more to look at when twisting. My mind works in mysterious ways, I always want the booker to feel they are getting value for money and like to look as impresive as possible.

I have found having the one stroke pump has produced a wow factor and this is increased as the model is made.
Suddenly a balloon inflates in front of them and it looks fantastic to the kids and adults alike, many are the comments I have had, all positive I might add.  :D
It is a lot quicker once you get used to it than a standard pump (and effort)
It took me a very short while to getthe right amount of air in and not to over inflate

Thanks Prof! I hope I get the same kind of reactions as you, that's what I'm hoping for.
