I have been asked by our local football club to provide prizes for a tournament they are running for 7-10 year olds this Sunday.  My son has been at this club for the last 5 years, and so am more than happy to help out.

The up-side of this is that ALL kids will receive a goody bag with something from each of the other sponsors, and I was asked if I could provide business cards or fliers to put in ALL of them!!  Fantastic free advertising  :D

My question is this:
I need to provide 4 (probably identical) models as a prize for the winning team of one of the age groups.  (It's a 4-aside tournament).  There is no way of knowing whether it will be a boys / girls or mixed team that will win the prize.  It can't be too fantastic as the other prizes are $20 vouchers for the local mall, and the same for a local fast food joint.

I had given this lady a monkey (thanks Don!!) holding flowers as a bit of a thank you for doing me a favour, and her son took it to school the next day for show & tell!  Then I was told it has spent the last 4 weeks or so at her office, having only just thrown it out!  She was suitably impressed and so was I!

Anyway, I digress - Any ideas on what would make a good prize for either a boy or girl aged 7-10?

Most football tournaments either for children or adults, end in a trophy presentation, how about a small golden cup and maybe a woven bottle of champagne? (just as the older competitors get in the FA Cup)

If you are allowed to advertise your services then you need to choose a selection of models that shows you off your talents at your very best. Personally I wouldn't worry about out doing the other prizes and I would create some nice football players perhaps using the Lootle style?

There are many possibilities here. It would be good to see a photo of your final creations.

Good luck

I considered doing a footballer, but don't want to use 160s as I want it to last.  Guess I could just make it out of 260s and 350s?

I like the idea of a trophy.

It's just One age group I am doing a prize for (just don't know which one) and it is one for each of the 4 kids in the team.

Thanks for the ideas.  Would love to hear any more you might have too!

Tip.

What ever you make put them in a clear plastic bag....Add finishing touches like balloon flower to seal bag, streamers (like those used for bouquets of flowers)..... and the all important label with your contact details attached which either stuck onto the bag or attached to the balloon inside.

I immediately thought a footballer or a cup, but how about a balloon woven football in the teams colours?? The kids will be happy as they have something to play with as well.

Thanks for all the tips / ideas everyone.

I was going to do 4 football monkeys, (a combination of the monkey she wanted and the footballer that I wanted) but it just didn't look right.  I couldn't manage a trophy that looked half decent either.  I wanted it to last as long as I could, so I ended up doing monkeys out of 350s with a football, each in a clear delivery bag.  The client was delighted, and so were the kids when I delivered them.

I didn't get any photos as they weren't anything out of the ordinary, but they were impressed.

Thanks so much
