Title: Ballooniville, Balloon TV show
Post by: Graham Lee on March 01, 2012, 11:44:24 PM
David and Jana have just sent me the news that finally after a few last minute hitches the TV show will air this Monday coming and for a 26 week run.
Congratulations and well done on finally getting it all together  :D

We are so happy to announce the UK's first children's TV Balloon show - BALLOONIVILLE!!!

In BALLOONIVILLE children learn different subjects through balloon art and develop their craft skills.  It features David Crofts (aka Mr Balloonie) and assistant Zoe Spurden.  The show includes live action, time-lapse sequences, arts and crafts on locations and unique balloon animation.
We hope you enjoy it

BALLOONIVILLE

on Cartoonito (sky 619, virgin 706)

from Monday 5th March everyday at 4.00 pm and repeated the next day at 12.00 noon

Perhaps they had to put it back a few days as I know David had to go in and reshoot some scenes yesterday due to the name change.

I have been informed that it is definately on on Monday, some TV stations and companies may have it still advertised as Balloniverse and not the new name Ballooniville.
Not sure if any shows will be on Youtube or viewable from outside the UK

This is excellent news. Any show aimed at my future customers can only do us all a lot of good in promoting our art.

Right I think we are at the bottom of this now, the show was meant to air on Monday 5th March under the name ballooniverse but due to the last minute name change has had to be put back to Wed as they could not sort out all the titles and songs etc that are in the show that had to be changed from ballooniverse to ballooniville, so Wed 7th it starts. I'm hoping it is put on YouTube as I do not have sky or virgin.

15 minutes of madness and mayhem! -  although its aimed at young children i really enjoyed watching it.
I liked the idea of creating all the backgrounds and props out of balloons. If you watch this im sure you will get a lot of ideas and inspiration out of it.
There was a section where the kids were given an inflated balloon each and were shown how to twist a simple helmet so they could wear it while dashing around with the pre made bicycles they had. I did think the instructions on this could have maybe been a little bit clearer for anyone trying to follow along at home with their parents - maybe we will get a new generation of twisters from this show!.

Looks like David also writes/performs the music for this show as well - I forgot hes also a talented ukullele player.

I watched it with my (almost) 5 year old last night - perfect target audience - and he was mesmerised.

I'm interested to see more too and to see how it develops - it looks like it's on every afternoon, but I don't know whether each show is the same or different (we'll see tonight when I get home).

As a stand-alone show it's really good anyway, but if it helps profile us twisters more then so much the better.  :D

It's on for a 26 week run, I believe the afternoon show is different everyday with the lunchtime screening being a repeat of the day's before show.

I watched it with my boy and he loved it and has asked me to record it everyday for him. Definitely a success.

Quote from: "fairby"Yep, it was good but wouldn't make the motorbike for line work!! :D
But the motorbike took less time to make in total than the helmets the children made.  ;)
I thought it was great and it's obviously reached the target audience as I received a phone call earlier from someone who wants me to make a bike for their son.

I saw this on TV this week with my 2 year old she loved it,  she stood infront of the TV like a statue. Great show and has spurred me on to have a go at twisting more as i'm a decorator. First challenge is a Jungle party in a couple of weeks where i've got free reign lets hope i can include some twisiting as well .

I've been watching it with my 2 and 5 year old. They love it and it has increased the popularity of my balloons in our house - "mam can you make that one?" A great source of ideas too!

A good 15 minutes or so with plenty of ideas.I made the sunglasses for my 6 year old grand daughter and they went down a treat. I have a feeling I will be making many many more. I drew eyes on them for effect.
