Hi
What pens are best for drawing solid clear colours onto an onyx black balloon? I tries a sharpie but they dont show up. colours and white need to be clear.
I have used Uni-Ball Posca paint pens, they do take a while to dry though. They are ok, but nothing to write home about (pun intended).
I think a lot use the White Edding 750

lol love it
Yeah i had looked at White Edding 750, but i wascafter a bit of colour. suppose colour could be put on top of the white though
I would guess that with writing on a black balloon you would need to add the colour
onto white. Could you print something out to stick the text onto the balloon?

ah now thats an idea. I can print out onto some self adhesive vinyl and just cut out a ton of them. letters, shapes etc.
awesome idea
I've been trying to move away from drawing on the balloons (my artwork isn't the best) now we have a vinyl cutter.

Ah cool. What do you use and where did you get it?
It a Shilouette Cameo v2 (there is a new v3 just out), I got it from http://www.mdpsupplies.co.uk/ (http://www.mdpsupplies.co.uk/)
I went on the Keith & Dom's training day in Manchester, it was based around a lot of decor but they showed you how to use cutter and apply the vinyl to deco balloons. Gimme 20 mins and I'll upload a picture. I've since started to print basic eyes and use these in my line work.
My first deco bubble and the eyes.
Oh wow, thats exactly the kind of luck ive been looking for. So, are they expensive to run then? Not only would it save time doing the art, but would look so much better too
I haven't worked out the cost but they are pretty cheap, the vinyl is around £5 for a roll of 30cm by 5m!
The initial cost of the cutting machine is quite expensive but then after that it's just your time sat picking the negative bits out.
