Title: Black Tie Events!
Post by: Royston on December 31, 2009, 01:20:41 PM
As most of my twisting is done at corporate events I was wondering who else does balloon twisting around the tables during dinner at Black Tie events and adult parties??

How do you find it compared to close-up magic? For me it works better than magic because of the visible aspect!

it certainly has impact & it's not so intense i find i can twist balloons a lot longer than i can preform magic and time is an issue with balloons as i wont compromise with quick 1 balloon models with magic i will book 1 or 2 hours & balloons 3 or 4 hours

I have done a few black tie, they work really well but hard to get round, even close up guys have a hard time to get round so not end of world.

We do them too - to get most of the way round especially large events we usually stick to making balloons for the ladies..

I get it....

now if you go for those events, do you also dress with bow tie or you stick to your regular twisting attire? Just want to be prepared if in the future I have to wear a tuxedo..  ;)

They will not book a clown or someone they think is a children's entertainer! No need for a tuxedo but a suit is a must as you are representing the hotel you are working in, you don't want to look like the waiters or the guests but as smart as!

Dennis you are right even 4 hours sometimes does not do it, I'm always asked for more as I leave no matter how long!!!

Normally these event's have more than 1 magician if they go for close up, so why not more than 1 twister?
