We have been playing with Geo's lately and I had an idea today, the dress from a Geo. Now I'm assuming this must have been done before?
The fussy one was the first one made, the weaved bottom of the dress may look better with a larger weave, as I keep saying........only one way to find out!
Had a go at my own version Graham. I added 5 x 160 around the geos. I then continued with groups of 5 bubbles in a 350 and 260 around a 260 core that goes bottom to top of the sculpture.
I really need to learn how to do better head and in particular hair. I think it is the weakest aspect of most of my figures. Still, I like the dress (bit heavy on the number of balloons but nice looking)
I made about five of these designs tonight and yes this is uncanny I also put the 160 around the geo plus a few other things.
I was putting the pictures up in instalments to space things out a little so I will post them tomorrow.
Love this idea. Must also be cheaper to use one geo per layer than four rounds.
Nice idea for a dress :) x
Like the geo's. Will have to have a play!
Another one from last night,
I love this idea so I had a go. Instead of offsetting the geos I had them lined up straight and gaged a bigger lip to the geo lips to make a feature go them instead of hiding them at the back. I didn't add any other balloons to the dress except at the bottom to keep the geos tight. Also I blew the top one up normally, the second had a little tube inside so it blew up wider and the third had a 260 balloon pump shoved inside the hole to make it inflate even wider. That was a tip from Colin Myles. Interesting that the wide the hole the wider the geo. Useful too.
I like the style of that one Thelma, looks 60's'ish. A few more from last night.
I was playing with the geo's again, came up with a couple of idea's, still working on them but for me there is something about this one.
No idea what but something,
I love this idea, especially the last one, I need to try it.
Quote from: "Cindy"I love this idea, especially the last one, I need to try it.
I still have more to post with this idea, I try to pace the posts though.
I have a terrible time with anything but basic hair. Anyone have some suggestions for good resources for hair design?
My apologies! I just saw the thread in the tutorial section on "hair"!
She's fantastic. I can see so much potential in her Graham I may well have to get my hands on some geo balloons again and have a play.

Thanks Dan
Here is another one I have been playing with, I had not finished the head with this shot.
The hair on the first one I did not like but I only did a large fold/pinch twist from either side of the head pinch twist
and it made the shape of the blush and hair line so much more pleasing to the eye
Trying to make her look a little more feminine, on the picture above the chest and arms look a little butch.
I made this yesterday using a heart for the upper body, may look better if all in pink or rose and not mixed?
Hair as well in case someone wanted to try, I thought the hair was quick and looked OK.
Here they are together, been a bit behind with posting pictures.
I changed one to a mini skirt, I think I prefer the longer look.
I was having a good old play this morning, I got this idea so had to follow it through. I think it worked out OK, I was pleased.
It looks a cross between a rabbit and a mouse and in the right colours the face looked a little lion'y as well.
If the ears were more pointy I think it would look more rabbit'y?
Like the use of the geo - have hundreds of them and need to think of a couple of designs to use them :) this looks really good :) x
I love that one ear goes up and one goes down, so cute
I changed the body and ears yesterday but used the same face,
He/she just gets cuter!!
I changed one of the skirts into a parasol.
I made the flower pot the other day and thought I saw a few different ideas, this is the first one. I have drawn details on and will post that picture later.
I thought it looked a little turtle like?
I then tried to have a more detailed shell, I think we need say no more as to what it looks like :D
Better give up on that one.
I then went onto bags again, I made some while in Bournemouth a few weeks back. This one was a little different though.
I think I made this about 10 days ago now, what with all the excitement of last week with the care and share
days in Sutton and showing the macaroni girls around London I got a little behind.
I do have a few more to post still.
I then added to the design,
Well now, that really is a good jet design!!
Quote from: "funat60"Well now, that really is a good jet design!!
Thanks Millie, I finished it off with a nose cone as well,
Blossom-gewicht.jpg[/attachment:2qzkrfke]
How I ad some weight to a blossom base
I thought I would add this one here as well as it has a geo base now.
Wow, Graham, I love that last one! It's beautiful!
Love your designs. The place is fab. Here's a panda
He looks like he is being told off !!!
I love that last one as well Graham, has great potential for many uses, ie column toppers. Like the panda too Thelma :)
Playing with Geo's again. I saw the spider Thelma posted yesterday and then had a 45 minute drive so my mind went wandering and this is what I came up with.
Without seeing Thelma's spider I would not have had a wandering mind, he he!
I then went onto the Panda after Thelma's post as well yesterday, this is what I have so far..............still playing.
Carrying on with the panda theme, I added black spots to the eye's.
Then a variation, the geo is in the body of this one.
How about a geo swan? Got to work on the wings but here's a first go.
Carrying on from Thelma posting her swan idea, I think it looks better in person so to speak.
I got a little behind with adding pictures from the geo playing sessions, well I actually forgot to add these as I made them just before the trip down to the magic convention in Bournemouth with Thelma. These pictures are from 29th Sept when I got back from the convention but were made the weekend before as I showed them to Thelma before our drive down to Bournemouth on the Tuesday morning.
A few more from the same session,
Last few,
When i saw number 8, i immediately saw a dog's head and could imagine putting in a couple of raisens to attach the ears lol.
So following on from my geo play from the past few weeks, I made these yesterday. I suppose I'd better go and try to put some artwork on them.
And try not to ruin them.
When I was making the white geo plane I thought about a monster/dino/dragon, does not work to me. Needs quite a bit of working on.
I added some artwork for the butterfly, if the eyes were the same it might not be too bad.
I came up with this shape the other day,
I made this earlier today from the above design. I think the dress size needed to be a little smaller, or the rest of the model slightly larger.
Depends if you are a glass half full or glass half empty type of person.
Adding a little detail to the dress and a handbag,
Lovely. I particularly like the character in her legs (not the point of the thread I know) and the dress idea is cool too
Quote from: "Areyouhappydad"I particularly like the character in her legs
Yes I was pleased with the leg movement as well :)
So playing about with the dress idea, I made this at the London city Jam on Tuesday night. I do have a picture with head that I made on Wed. Will post later.
Here is a better picture taken at home Wed morning and then finally adding the head.
Excellent research and results. Generally I don't use geo balloons much... but may be I should.
Still loving all your stuff.
I attempted to add a face, this was face two. I had to swivel the head around as the first face I attempted was not too good.
I thought the original one I made was a little too wide at the top so moved the arms and positioning of the dress for a little softer look.
The first picture number 27 is the original.
I've got a little muddled with what I have posted as I have two folders going with some under Geo and some under Lon so a few might get repeated, oops!
The Betty Boop was made at the London jam.
Here they are all together,
These are all pretty awesome Graham :D
Quote from: "magirob"These are all pretty awesome Graham :D
Thanks Rob, so a few more I have been playing with.
I changed the top of the dress, then added some flowers and artwork. I was quite pleased with the face for me.
The first picture is the original dress.
I then went onto using just one geo for both wings, I did make a different geo winged plane back in Jan but that had two geos for the wings.
I think I will post the old plane as well, will make easier to see. The first two pictures are from the plane I made in Jan and the last picture the one last week.
Slightly better angle for the plane, they are slightly different in construction.
A couple more from the geo play,
This is one of my favourites, it has a nice look and feel to it, well for me it does.
Graham, on page 4 of this thread I told you I saw a dog in one of the attempts. I finally had the chance to try one and here it is!!
Thanks for joining in Millie, looks a little sheep like as well?
A few geo blossom faces,
Adding eyes to the one above and the second picture looks like a Koala to me.
These pictures are now from about two weeks back,
These are from a while ago again, still playing with different ideas,
I really like the look of geo48.
I have one more geo design to post but that is the one I have kept back for the unique design for the Layla-mae appeal day in Birmingham this Tuesday.
If anyone would like to attend then details are here, https://www.facebook.com/events/514069512028787/ (https://www.facebook.com/events/514069512028787/)
I will post the last geo idea next week sometime,
I have not posted the dog till I showed it at the Birmingham day last week as we were meant to show a new design,
on the Wed I stayed at Thelma's and we had a play with some more geo shapes.
The last picture is a heart, looks a little cow or hippo like?
There was a mish mass of ideas, the shoe and monkey face, both coming up were probably the best from the day that I made and Thelma had a nice hippo.
Thelma was also making up an excellent hippo face with at least four internal joints but had a poppage at the last moment and then went onto the other hippo
idea so we did not get any picture. Perhaps it will be made again?
I forgot to post some of these, in fact I was re-sizing them all again even though they are already to post onto the forum.
Just a few shapes,
We thought this looked a little monkey like?
Playing with the dog design again, I think I like the latest version so will stick with this one now.
Thelma made the hippo,
Still playing with the Geo's, these were taken at Thelma's the other week when we were up there.
Really loving all of these design. Particularly like the hippo.
There was a discussion on facebook about using up a certain colour of geo. One suggestion was the dino that David Brenion did a youtube video for http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VQTzB6Aju44 (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VQTzB6Aju44) I had a go. I only had white so it looks a little ghost like.
Setting up to take the one shot from the day,
This is the last geo picture I have from Thelma's, I really like this one.
When I was making the dinosaur for the latest DVD I stumbled upon these, a human head, seal and monkey.
Now if the made the geo blossoms in other colours we would be away again.
wow, i like the last three.. very nice.
Another idea,
Playing with the panda idea, a few variations. I'm liking the new back drop :)
Then playing with some variations of Betty.
Thought I would add my owl here (if indeed it is an owl)
Been twisting balloons with Graham today.
The Panda cropped up again so here are three we did. Two of Grahams and one attempt from me.
As Thelma said we were twisting away together on Friday with the dreaded Panda design and then went onto the swan, this is what I made on Friday.
I have been twisting away again today but will wait till Thelma posts her swans as they inspired me to try a variation on the swan design.
These were on the swan idea but the first picture looks like a very aggressive geese to me.
Here are the swans I came up with.
This was my swan, I liked the wing structure that Thelma sent me over the weekend and changed mine about a little.
This was the first effort, I wanted the wings to flow more so attempted version two straight after,
So version two,
And both together, we want to be together ;) :)
Nice.
Love them. ;)
Playing with another geo idea, the notes were an idea I saw at Twist and Shout.
Ninja time, he he!
Added some 160 lime around the 350 goldenrod to fill the chest out more and added a belt.
I gave him a little pose and made a few variations for the head design.
With a couple of variations on the head design, I posted the back design in case someone wanted to have a play and make the ninja turtle.
I expect it will end up on my geo blossom DVD though.
I tried the head with a nose, does not look right to me.
love how inventive you are being with the geos Graham. I have a turtle I am presently doing for my pick and mix but it uses a heart instead of a geo. I will post it soon. Not on this thread though because its not a geo. I like all the designs. You could use a different variation for each turtle with a different bandana colour. So they all get different personalities.
Here are a couple of designs I came up with today and yesterday.
I've been waiting for you to post your dog Thelma as I made a dog yesterday as well.
The other side of the dog looked like this and Harry was around today and said exactly the same thing as I was thinking.
So we made a couple of puppies up for a family photo shoot.
I'd better explain this a little, it started off that I was going to make an elephant from a geo for the face structure so as I was just playing I grabbed the first colour geo and hearts that I could find and then it morphed into a Minnie head. The ears should be made from a black heart and a lot smaller and the snout structure in blush but I was trying to keep a colour theme. I will possibly make again next week in the correct colours. So I thought well in for a penny then in for a pound and made the dress. The dress is based on an idea from Thelma for the 3 tiered geo dress, up till then I had only used a 2 tier system, thanks Thelma.
It might be better to have the dress made from non geo but I was having a play...........like you do sometimes.
And the dress with a few spots on, the pink heart and pink 260 mouth area do not look too pink in these pictures.
Changed the head design and made the spots a little bigger as well.
The original head I was going to make into an elephant but once I got so far Minnie took over. Went back to the elephant idea today.
Made a body for the elephant, the head is a couple of days old and a little soft.
I made a variation on the elephant that I posted on a different thread as it did not use a geo blossom, elephant-t9755.html (http://balloonchat.co.uk/elephant-t9755.html)
Made the frog with two geo's, struggled with the front legs, made two variations and not happy with either.
Still needs some work but it kept me out of mischief.
Have you thought about using the geo the other way round for the elephants head?
Quote from: "Thelma Levett"Have you thought about using the geo the other way round for the elephants head?
Just made the elephant as you suggested, looks really good, will post a picture later once I set up my photo studio ;)
My photo studio is a blind that covers my radiator, see I'm getting well posh and nearly a professional, he he.
Here is the elephant with Thelma's suggestion, I think it works well :) Thanks.
I thought this looked a little cat like, I started off with a black muzzle part for the face but then thought white would be better.
The DVD is nearly all ready to go, Lord G has one more model to edit in and then we are ready for launch date. Still in need of a name, I was thinking about Blossoms and Geo's so BAG for short ;)
But how about Blossoms and Designs and BAD for short.
I made a little geo car at the London city jam last week,
You are getting some great ideas with those geos. Looking forward to the dvd graham. But me down for one please.
I think I had a good idea today, in the DVD that is on pre-order for only one more week we will add 10 gel blossom balloons so you can start twisting straight away when you get the DVD. http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/balloons/dvds-books/ (http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/balloons/dvds-books/)
Another idea for the geo's.
Very cute little bug <3. I have never worked with geo's since you can't buy them at my local party supplies shop where I get my Qualatex but I will order some next Friday when I get paid from LARocks.com I would order from you Graham but you don't ship to the US :|
Making another design with a geo today, will post later when finished.
Posting the latest ninja design here so all the geo designs are in one place,
I just had to go through all the pictures for a blog that will be coming out soon on geo's and they wanted to use a lot of the pictures.
Surprised myself at the amount of designs I eventually made.
