Title: Bride
Post by: Graham Lee on October 02, 2014, 07:39:13 PM
We have been playing with Geo's lately and I had an idea today, the dress from a Geo. Now I'm assuming this must have been done before?
The fussy one was the first one made, the weaved bottom of the dress may look better with a larger weave, as I keep saying........only one way to find out!

Had a go at my own version Graham. I added 5 x 160 around the geos. I then continued with groups of 5 bubbles in a 350 and 260 around a 260 core that goes bottom to top of the sculpture.

I really need to learn how to do better head and in particular hair. I think it is the weakest aspect of most of my figures. Still, I like the dress (bit heavy on the number of balloons but nice looking)

I made about five of these designs tonight and yes this is uncanny I also put the 160 around the geo plus a few other things.
I was putting the pictures up in instalments to space things out a little so I will post them tomorrow.

Love this idea. Must also be cheaper to use one geo per layer than four rounds.

Another one from last night,

I love this idea so I had a go.  Instead of offsetting the geos I had them lined up straight and gaged a bigger lip to the geo lips to make a feature go them instead of hiding them at the back. I didn't add any other balloons to the dress except at the bottom to keep the geos tight. Also I blew the top one up normally, the second had a little tube inside so it blew up wider and the third had a 260 balloon pump shoved inside the hole to make it inflate even wider. That was a tip from Colin Myles. Interesting that the wide the hole the wider the geo. Useful too.

The hair on the first one I did not like but I only did a large fold/pinch twist from either side of the head pinch twist
and it made the shape of the blush and hair line so much more pleasing to the eye

I made this yesterday using a heart for the upper body, may look better if all in pink or rose and not mixed?
Hair as well in case someone wanted to try, I thought the hair was quick and looked OK.

Title: Bunny Mouse
Post by: Graham Lee on October 10, 2014, 07:29:19 PM
I was having a good old play this morning, I got this idea so had to follow it through. I think it worked out OK, I was pleased.
It looks a cross between a rabbit and a mouse and in the right colours the face looked a little lion'y as well.
If the ears were more pointy I think it would look more rabbit'y?

I thought the original one I made was a little too wide at the top so moved the arms and positioning of the dress for a little softer look.
The first picture number 27 is the original.

There was a mish mass of ideas, the shoe and monkey face, both coming up were probably the best from the day that I made and Thelma had a nice hippo.
Thelma was also making up an excellent hippo face with at least four internal joints but had a poppage at the last moment and then went onto the other hippo
idea so we did not get any picture. Perhaps it will be made again?

love how inventive you are being with the geos Graham.  I have a turtle I am presently doing for my pick and mix but it uses a heart instead of a geo. I will post it soon.  Not on this thread though because its not a geo.  I like all the designs.  You could use a different variation for each turtle with a different bandana colour.  So they all get different personalities.

Title: Re: Geo play
Post by: Graham Lee on March 13, 2015, 10:50:13 PM
I'd better explain this a little, it started off that I was going to make an elephant from a geo for the face structure so as I was just playing I grabbed the first colour geo and hearts that I could find and then it morphed into a Minnie head. The ears should be made from a black heart and a lot smaller and the snout structure in blush but I was trying to keep a colour theme. I will possibly make again next week in the correct colours. So I thought well in for  a penny then in for a pound and made the dress. The dress is based on an idea from Thelma for the 3 tiered geo dress, up till then I had only used a 2 tier system, thanks Thelma.

It might be better to have the dress made from non geo but I was having a play...........like you do sometimes.

And the dress with a few spots on, the pink heart and pink 260 mouth area do not look too pink in these pictures.

Changed the head design and made the spots a little bigger as well.

The original head I was going to make into an elephant but once I got so far Minnie took over. Went back to the elephant idea today.

Made a body for the elephant, the head is a couple of days old and a little soft.

I made a variation on the elephant that I posted on a different thread as it did not use a geo blossom, elephant-t9755.html (http://balloonchat.co.uk/elephant-t9755.html)

Made the frog with two geo's, struggled with the front legs, made two variations and not happy with either.
Still needs some work but it kept me out of mischief.

Have you thought about using the geo the other way round for the elephants head?

Just made the elephant as you suggested, looks really good, will post a picture later once I set up my photo studio  ;)
My photo studio is a blind that covers my radiator, see I'm getting well posh and nearly a professional, he he.

I thought this looked a little cat like, I started off with a black muzzle part for the face but then thought white would be better.

The DVD is nearly all ready to go, Lord G has one more model to edit in and then we are ready for launch date. Still in need of a name, I was thinking about Blossoms and Geo's so BAG for short  ;)
But how about Blossoms and Designs and BAD for short.

I think I had a good idea today, in the DVD that is on pre-order for only one more week we will add 10 gel blossom balloons so you can start twisting straight away when you get the DVD. http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/balloons/dvds-books/ (http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/balloons/dvds-books/)

Posting the latest ninja design here so all the geo designs are in one place,
I just had to go through all the pictures for a blog that will be coming out soon on geo's and they wanted to use a lot of the pictures.

Surprised myself at the amount of designs I eventually made.
