Title: Challenge 2021
Post by: Graham Lee on January 11, 2021, 05:58:07 PM
I have been having a tidy up of my balloon photo collection and taking a look at some
designs we would like to have a go at for the challenge thread for this year.

We are back to our old friend, Masayoshi Matsumoto for the Poodle design,
his Instagram page is, https://www.instagram.com/isopresso_balloon/
and on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/masayoshi.matsumoto.5

I sent the Poodle to Danielle this afternoon and we both agreed we liked the design and would like to attempt to re-create it  ;D

This is the thread to look at the challenge for 2020, https://www.balloonchat.co.uk/balloon-chit-chat/challenge-2020/

This was my variation on the design.
I then made a smaller Poodle and posted the pictures on a separate thread if you'd like to take a look.

This was enjoyable to make...and made me use brain lots to work out techniques.
I'm happy how the poodle turned out. I distorted ears with 160 in 350 and apple twisted the legs.

I made a smaller version with 6 inch quick links

Well it was my turn to pick the design for the challenge, been a little busy with home schooling,
making balloon designs to earn a few pennies and learning to make stuffing balloons.

So Graham sent me a few pictures over and seemed keen on the face design .....as was I so we went along with this.
The design is from Jason Secoda and Eric Weinstein. I'm sure Graham will add links for them.

They do post clips onto YouTube, you can find the links via either ones Facebook page.

I made a few face designs that I have posted onto Balloon Chat since the Challenge was made.
I started a separate thread, https://www.balloonchat.co.uk/balloon-chit-chat/face-11808/
This is possibly my favourite of the five that I have made so far.

It was a nice challenge and took me off to making a face design in a
different way to some of the others faces I have made before.

Finally I get time to make the face. I feel faces are difficult for me so was eager to try this.
I used blush hearts for the cheeks.
I used a blush 350 that run through middle making the chin and nose.
But decided it was too long gap so shortened it here.

It was my turn to decide what design to make for the challenge, but having said that Danielle sent me the heart design
and I rather like symmetry so we went with this design for the next challenge.
It was a little more difficult that we originally thought.

We are not sure who to credit for the design, we have seen it on a couple of Instagram pages but neither
are the originators so I might post the design onto my Facebook page to see if anyone can help.

We have found out who the design should be credited too, Alberto Falcone. Perhaps I should have realised, oops.
The design is more than 10 years old. Alberto made this originally back in 2000.

This is his Facebook page and he does have some tutorials out as well,

This was my attempt at Alberto's design. I might have used smaller hoops/links for the design.

I then added an extra 260 to the top of the heart, I should have taken picture horizontally as well, oops
