Dear Forum Members.

Just a little message about our competitions, as we are aware that many of you are busy at this time of year and from the moderation of the competitions in the past month not many people have been getting involved.

We would ask if each member would try to post at least once in one of the competitions listed above, in an effort to keep the competitions going.

Remember, getting involved in competitions also promotes chat and that's what it's all about.

Sometimes life is strange as Danny and I were talking about all the competitions yesterday when we went to see the Ocean project at Selfridges.
Maybe we need to simplify and just have one competition running at a time, so one month the shadow challenge, next month ABC game and then the tag another month.
Just a suggestion as it does seem as if they have all died a death so to speak.

Yes I agree with you and Danny, Graham.

Maybe we should take some suggestions on how to approach this. :!:

I love looking through the competitions you are doing and hopefully once I get better at twisting I will start to join in.  It is a great way to pick up ideas and see the amazing work that can be done with balloons.
Hopefully more people will join in soon as it will be a shame for them to stop.

I would vote for just one competition per month alternating. Mind you with everything else I normally dont get time to join in.

I have to go with Graham on this one.  As much as I like joining in on all the competitions/games, I just can't play as much as I used to (I miss it horribly!).    
I will still try to keep up with them as I get some free time.  I'd hate to see them totally disappear.  
I too love to go thru and see some of the posts for ideas.

Competitions disappear . I feel this would be sad sad day, as I enjoy looking at balloon art almost as much as making it myself. However maybe to cut the competitions down may be an option. I don't get to play enough at home to be able to make much and even worse my camera skills leave so so much to desired, that I have to wait for my better half to be able to make the shot for me (not always as easy as it sounds). Personally I look forward to a time when regular postings may become possible, but not yet. maybe one day (before I'm old and grey)....

Dan what do you mean "before"? LOL you know I don't mean it    I'm afraid I'm in the same boat as the others in that I am manically busy and there is not enough hours in the day to do the stuff I HAVE to do let alone make balloons for the fun of it  :cry:

Maybe in a few months time things will calm down a little and I can start to have fun again  :roll:

It would seem that people do not have much time to spend on competitions. My Eddie the Eagle competition which actually had a cash prize attached didn't generate the number of entries I expected. I wasn't an active member when Graham used to post balloon of the month but I would certainly give those a try.

May be a competition that resulted in having something we could all actually use in our day to day twisting lives would be better. For example, post a photo of a character from an upcoming movie and then everyone tries to make it. It would be even better to set an end date, everyone send their entry to you and then all entries displayed on the forum at once. The best design could then be copied by others and we jointly write instructions (or something like that). It is not necessary the most complicated design that would win each time but perhaps one that only uses a few balloons but could then be used for line work or perhaps in a restaurant.

Just a thought.

I'm in the same boat as the others, Kenny - I don't have enough spare time to do all the things I need to do, never mind what I want to!!

So, for me, it's honestly not that I can't be bothered, don't want to or not interested.  It's just trying to find the time.

Dear Balloon Chat Members.

I have made the decision to only run one competition per Month.

We figured that with only one competition running at a time, members won't feel that there is too much for them to take on.

This Month I will be running the Shadow Challenge Game.

It is situated in the Balloon Chat Challenge Section of the Forum Home Page.

Graham won the last challenge so if he is not too busy he will kick of the Game for this month.

THE SHADOW CHALLANGE WILL RUN FROM THE 29th OF JUNE UNTIL THE 29th OF JULY.

We would encourage everyone to get involved if possible.
