So as the new year approaches, what will be your new year's resolution be towards the art of Balloon Modelling?

I would like to:
1) Attend as many of the C&S days as possible.
2) Improve my weaving!
3) Get a good usable mouse & butterfly that I'm pleased with for gigs.
4) Post balloon photos & comments more frequently on balloonchat.co.uk
5) Practice more regularly and get more gigs!

How about you? What are yours?

 ;)

Danny, I think I must have posted at least 20 butterfly designs, they are always a challenge to me as well. I could show you the one I use at the Bishops Stortford day on 21st Jan.
I dress the child up as the butterfly, I think it's very similar to a David Brenion design, although it might have been tweaked here and there over time?

I'm having a think as to my New Year resolutions and will post them sometime,

There are a few on page 3 and 4 of the my balloon art thread, balloon-art-t7793-20.html?hilit=butterfly

Also from a Bishops Stortford day 2/3 years ago we had a butterfly competition and I brought down 10/12 already made up, off to see if I can find the link.

Although I rarely make resolutions for New Years, here are mine.
1.  Absolutely make every effort to get to Twist and Shout!!
2.  Practice more and try to put in an hour of ballooning every day!
3.  Put more effort into posting on this forum

Oh please come!!  I'd LOVE to meet you in really life!

A thread similar to this one ran last year.  (2013-hopes-dreams-t6329.html?start=0)

I was curious how close I came to my resolutions this year before I plan out for next year.
2013 resolutions (were)
-book at least 10 shows outside my library system  (Close, but didn't quite make it.  I have already lined up more than that for summer 2014, though.)
-Figure out how to market myself better (I think marketing is my biggest weakness) (Found new markets in Gig Salad and several sites.  I also made a marketing video for my upcoming "Charlie and the Chocolate Balloon Factory" that has gotten me several bookings for next summer.)
-Remember that my first love is performing.(I really understand this better than I did when I wrote that statement)
-Give out at least one large creation a month just to see someone smile (and not just to my library) (I gave out quite a few, but still fell short of this one.)
-Plan more effectively so I can make it to Twist n Shout 2014 (Boo-yah!  Totally going!  BALLOONCHAT ROCKS!!)

2014 resolutions
-Go to Twist n Shout!  (Yippee!!) - Plane ticket in hand.
-Get more shows this summer / fill up the month of June with shows
-Post more to Balloonchat
-Remember to get pictures when I make a creation.  (It's a bit crazy how often I forget this)

That's it for now.

Last year was my first year twisting so 2014 aims are: (in no particular order)

1) Learn to weave
2) Make a large piece utilising a weave
3) Get more gigs / commissions
4) Keep practising and evolving what I already can do
5) Learn new models for line work
6) Attend as many C&S days as work will allow
7) Create something new - something that I can truly say is designed by me and not adaptations of what others have done.
8) Enter Balloon Snap each week
