Was it me or did I read a post claiming that a friend who had been house sitting had hacked the account and even impersonated him on the phone?!?

YvonneH

No I saw that too but then posts made after it were back to the same old nonsense!

Just curious since I wasn't active the whole time he was posting,
but has anyone ever met him in person?

My impression of him was that he was very paranoid and dilusional.   I am not a doctor and have no professional
knowledge of mental illness, but I do have a sister who has paranoid schizophrenia and his behavior seems very
much in line with what I have seen the last 20 years with her.

I feel sorry for the man and all who have to deal with him, but there would have been nothing we could have done
to make him feel better and believe that none of us were out to get him.   His posts and rants would have just continued
and gotten worse.

I don't believe for a minute that any real person broke into his home and hacked his computer.   He may honestly believe
it because at moments he may also be alarmed at the posts he made but trust me, I have witnessed this type of behavior for
years.   It is very sad and depressing but much better for all on the forum not to have to deal with it since it would not get
better, ever.

I have to admit I have been on holiday and not looked in this past couple of weeks so it seems I missed something that was best missed.  I hoped he would see that if he was positive that other people would respond positively.  Reading between the lines I see that the advice was not taken.  No one wants to add unnecessary stress to their lives by having such negativity thrust upon them. We come here to improve our art and to share what we learn.  Its a shame he used this forum as a punch bag.  So good call Graham.

I have only joined the forum but I have read his posts and though rude at times, he never came across as having mental illness problems.

I believe he made comments which some people took offence to and he didn't handle it well.
I have been on forums where people do not always get what the post is actually saying and perhaps he felt that was what members were doing.

He says he has busked for years as well as being employed for hired engagements. As a balloon busker myself I have witnessed a stigma for myself. Some people do take issue with men working with children. When on a hired engagements I can only think of the one occasion when someone made a sick remark which I will not repeat. But busking is a different matter.
When I have worked in a shopping centre, pub and lots of other venues (which is where most balloon modelling work is - inside a venue) the public are less likely to make such comments. For example they might worry about being banned or being told to leave. Busking in the town centre isn't the same thing at all. People do behave differently. They can make a comment without there being any consequences.

I do see where Daniel is coming from though his actions were not OK.

I hope to see him return one day to the forum.

A classic example of someone not reading the post the way its mean to be read. I said I hope to see him return one day, not that he had returned. Or are you saying that I'm Daniel Twist?

As I said I do not improve of what he did, not all. I can see where he is coming from that's all.
Martin you are a dishonest person. You claimed he was abusive and then later changed your story. It has been proven and Daniel was right about you.

I do not use forums often as they have people like Martin. I support Daniel Twist and hope to see him back as I believe he should be given another chance.

I do not believe Martin was abusive to him down the phone neither. But Martin needs to behave himself too.

I see your few days off has sharpened your brain a little Daniel... if not your balloons.

See you.... wouldn't want to be you!

Martin.

Not been involved with any of this so far but having read some of the threads and watched most of the videos on YouTube by Daniel Twist I have to agree with the others who have called troll.

I too have spent many hours on various forums and the signs are blatant, although going to the effort of putting a dozen YouTube clips up is really taking it to another level, and shows how bored Daniel must be to take the time to do this.

To "Daniel" I say, fair play on an elaborate and moderately successful trolling, but you have been busted.

To the rest of the forum and especially Graham I can humbly suggest you look at how the rest of the arpanet deal with trolling and don't waste any more time on this guy.

Given he's rejoined so soon you may need to look at Ip blocking too.

Martin,

You are SO wrong...

David Baker is completely above board and genuine. He saw Daniel Twist perform at the Wacky Warehouse in Blackpool and was so impressed he left a review... and I quote..

"Meals are cheap and cheerful. Great entertainment for the children in the form of a balloon modeller and funny children's entertainer by the name of Daniel Twist. He is realy good, able to make his balloon models behind back and blindfolded. Great entertainment and great value for money. I can highly recommend it. Daniel isn't hired by the pub so he accepts tips or donations only. The staff are friendly. As for complaints that the food is terrible, many of these customers are saying this because the food is advarage, they expect it to be a good as a fancy restaurant which it is not. It's two for one on main meals so is good value for money. I have eaten there on many occasions and I liked the food. I've had better but I usually pay more."

But then more recently another David from Blackpool wrote...

"David Blackpool (02/12/2012) Rating 5/5
Daniel Twist is a very entertaining and professional balloon entertainer who was at the venue a while back.

What I find amazing is how a member of the public who saw Daniel perform at the Wacky Warehouse (even though not hired or paid by the restaurant) and have taken the time and trouble to find this forum, sign up as a member and say how we are all mistaken. Daniel must have really given a fantastic performance.

See here.... http://www.eatandplay.co.uk/reviews.asp?RID=25

But then again, David Baker is also a balloon modeller in Blackpool...

Anyway, have to go now, I've got the box set of Jekyll and Hyde to watch....

Perhaps when I return David Baker will have made a formal introduction and posted some photos of his creations for us all to enjoy.

Definitely the same person Graham, no need to waste any more time on this person.
