Hi Balloon people...does anyone know how to get Hi-float into a 260 and how much to put into them?   I'd like to try this to see if my displays can last a little longer.

Thanks!!!

I think using nitrogen would give you some extra life time, I thought the hi-float comes with the small round tube that fits into the 260 easily.
Not sure how much you would need to use though, Sofie and Koen used this technique when they made a few balloon dresses when we were in China.
When they pop you get covered  :)

You have to calculate the surface size of a 11" round and a 260Q, so you can see and scale how much Hi-Float do you need. I suppose, you can use less Hi-Float for air than for helium.

Thanks for the responses, I didn't get that small round tube though. I'll look in the package again to see if I missed it...Thanks.

Hi if you get an end from a silicone tube or such like just from B&Q and only cut the very tip off it then cut the chunky screw part from the other end, and put the small section on to your original hi float pipe this should fit just about flush. Then take electrical tape and secure it on.
Press your hi float to release about 1cm. Pinch the 260 so the hi float can not go to the nozzle of the 260 and with your other hand pull the hi float to the very end of the balloon a couple of times. Then just inflate as normal. It does last lots longer but is very messy.

Hope this makes sense if you need a photo just ask.

Thanks very much, when I have some time I'll try this.  It would be nice to have them last a bit longer.

Not sure what happened to them but I swear I saw some prototype syringe things at Alterna Jam a couple years ago (the lets do something since Diamond jam is not going on event)

It seemed to be similar to what you would use for a children to give them medicine (plunger syringe thing) but with a longer, skinny neck.

Maybe you can use a medicine syringe and a hollow rod ?

Good luck!!

That's another great idea, thanks, I'll try that also.

Well, this is a little update and I want to thank you all for the help.  I found a syringe plunger and it took a few tries but I got it to work (using a 160) and that was a challenge but I got the hang of it.  I made a rose using the hi-float and the stem without.  There is definitely a difference between the two.  It's been about a week and the rose still looks like the first day I made it and the stem is limp.  This isn't something I will do often but there are times this will come in handy.

Thanks again,
Cindy
