Hi
I am currently working my way through David Grist's video vol 1 and have come to an abrupt halt at the flower model with 6 (evenly spread and proportioned)yea right lol petals.
I have popped numerous 260s and finding it difficult to get the petals the same size.
Can anyone give me any tips?
I have tried inflating the balloon hard then letting it down a bit to make it soft, this helps but my failure rate is still high.

Hi Paul,

You need to have the balloon incredibly soft for the 6 petal flower. So soft that if you pressed a section between thumb and finger that section would remain deflated once you removed the pressure.

Hope that helps,
Martin.

Hi Paul,

Martin is so right, the balloon needs to be so so so soft, for it to work. Blow the balloon up fully, then let it down a lot, before you do it.

I don't do this flower a lot, just for that reason. If I want a smaller flower, I blow the balloon leaving an approx 4" tip, and make 5 seperatly made loop twists. I find this a lot easier, and I like a 5 petal flower. The centre is a seperate 260, with a bubble at the end. In the picture the rest of the balloon ties round the basket handle. Doing it this way can also make a great bracelet.

The flower I make most at events, is this one with two colours. It's easier to do, bigger, and very popular.

Hope this is helpful for you  :D  :D
Kind regards
Kevin
