A few days ago I received an enquiry from someone called Henry Blair looking for 45 mins entertainment. I suspected a con just by the look and feel of the email so I quoted £1000 for 45mins.

Today I received another email from the same guy but a different email address claiming he want to book me!

It is a corporate event to be held at 18 Railway Terrace Grantham, Lincs NG31 6NB for a company http://www.gemstoneprofessionals.co.uk/

Their financial advisor will be in touch once I supply them with my name, address and phone number.

Either I have just turned down a very highly paid gig or I am right and I smell a rat.

I know you are all sensible enough but clearly people do fall for it so just be careful.

Thanks for your swift response to my previous message and I am very sorry for my delay to reply you, I am the owner of Gems Stone Professional Ltd, I organized an event to entertain my customers and also for the sale of my gems   and my fourth get together party celebration on the 15th of November,2012. you are to entertain my guests  for 45minutes.

I have already held the event here in U.S.A as form of competition between 20 contestants in which one Filipino male of 39years and a British male of 35years old are to meet at the final on the 15th of November as the date that being chosen as the D-day for the Final event.

These sort of things come up every year or so for me, the most common-one is asking for showreels, (I think another entertainer looking for routines, who feels he needs to 'steal' them). And then these odd ones...

What actual benefit do they expect to get with your name and address?

the address exists but looking on Google street view it appears to be a two bedroom terrace house
