Hi All

what methods do members use to find the correct colour balloons in a busking bag in a venue under Dim or odd lighting.

I have often had this problem, especially in Bars, and wonder about having a small torch in the busking bag? but this was a real problem at a Halloween do where the light were not only dim, but green too.

I struggle sometimes separating the Dark Green, Chocolate and Black even in good light!

Hi Mark
I would suggest that you put your light green and dark greens together,  your dark browns and your gold together, you pink and lilac together etc etc.  Also make sure your blues and greens are not next to each other and you orange are not next to your pinks.  These can be hard to tell apart in some lights.  Take a battery light with you if you are in a really dark place.  I hate working with random colours, I like to be able to get the right colour for each creation.

I think Danny had a torch hat that he wore? Or I think someone did which was a nifty idea and did Roger have a light that clipped on his bag and Russell I think at the Leeds day as well.

I showed up to twist at a birthday party in a bowling alley. They said, "We have the perfect spot for you" and showed me to the darkest corner in the entire place. It was pitch black as the used blacklights and neon balls to make bowling more fun for the kids. I thought I was toast until I remembered the Flashlight App on my phone. I used my phone's belt clip to clip it to the the lip of my bag, facing inward on my balloons. IT WORKED AWESOME.

I would like to have a better setup. I saw a clip with ~30 LED's on it. I think I'm going to get that and keep it handy for situations that arise.

Hi,

I am with Thelma on this... it is not always the darrk colours that are a problem, but the light colours as well, I got muddled with blush, goldenrod, pink, yellow etc,

now I put colours in light/dark pairs

Pink goes next to red
blush next to mocha
yellow next to orange
violet next to lilac
black next to grey   etc etc

That seems to work for me anyway, but when working "on the fly" I limit my colour palate eg just one green, wintergreen, not lime, wintergreen, and dark green.
just yellow, don't use goldenrod as well.

Hope this helps  :D
Kind regards
Kevin

I have a penlight for situations like that. They are the kinds that doctors and nurses use and are pretty cheap. They clip tight into your sharpie section and allow for quick recall of where your stuff is. You also get to look pretty ninja.

I use a small, key chain, torch. I use a 260 to connect it to the plastic D-ring on my Twist em up bag.
