Title: Jammie Dodger
Post by: Graham Lee on January 08, 2020, 03:32:47 PM
This was a fun request, to make a Jammie Dodger biscuit. The person it was
for was turning 60 and while at school it was his job to sell 4 Jammie
Dodgers for an old penny.

I have posted a picture of a Jammie Dodger as those not UK
based maybe wondering what it is. Its a British institution....

The start, I made two hearts for either side.

I added a couple of extra 350's blush to the heart at 3 and 9 O'clock to bulk out the outer section.
Then added a 260 in blush around the heart as the jam in a Jammie Dodger is inset into the biscuit.

I guessed that a 6 finger bubble around the outside of each
350 blush would hold the outer biscuit together.

Then wanted to add texture to the biscuit and fill in the gaps on
the outside so the 260 V shaped weave worked out pretty well.

I had a rest from making the main biscuit while having a think as to how it would all go
together so started on a base. The original idea was to have the main biscuit on a
smaller mini Jammie Dodger but once I started to make it and held in place it
did not look right to me, to blush in colour with not enough contrast and
it detracted from the main focus of the main biscuit.

The 260 V weave coming together.

I added extra 260's in red between the two hearts to help fill the blank space.
Then added 160 between the 260's to fill and bulk the heart shape up.

I added 160 Red around the outside and weaved into the 350 pinch twist
and then pulled the red 160 around the lower pinch twist and back
again to pull them both closer together for a more snug fit.

The smaller mini Dodger was going to be the base but
I think it detracted from the main larger biscuit.
