I'm back to building another large Train for the local cinema, for their showing of the Polar Express.
This will be the third time we have built the train so wanted to try something a little different.
The past two times the most difficult thing had been the under carriage and attaching the cylinder of the Train and the wheels to lock
them all together. In the past we have tried two different ways that at the time seemed very time consuming.
So going for plan C now and will let you know how we got on.

I did do a little test run to see if it might work out, this is the thread if you'd like to take a look,

The first Train build in 2019, https://www.balloonchat.co.uk/balloon-chit-chat/train-big-build/

The train from last year 2021 can be seen here, https://www.balloonchat.co.uk/balloon-chit-chat/big-build-wednesday-train/

So we started to build it tonight, we are taking note of the hours it takes and also the number of balloons we use.

The U shape will be the front of the Train with the chimney attaching close by on the top section.
And the circle will sit in front of the U shape for the light of the Train and also
where we will attach the cow catcher

Had a very long day today, been weaving for approx 7 hours, David was here as well today helping and we got a lot done.
We finished about 6 and it was at 5.15 we hit the wall.... well I did, not sure about David.

Picture 7 was what we got done last night, and then here is David hiding up wearing his Santa hat, he does make me chuckle.

The wheels coming together, we did not complete them as we wanted to wait till we had some of the main section of the Train
finished to see proportionally how it looked. We could have easily added an extra section or two if required to the wheels.

We decided to build the Train different this time, for the first 3 or 4 rows we were unsure if it was going to work
out but then it all started to sit correctly and version "C" of building the Train seemed to be working out OK.

Just looking at proportions, straight away we thought the Train was a little too high but once you start you are committed.
No time to start again, you have to go with what you have and develop/evolve it.

So by the time we add all the pictures we will know if the Train was too high.

More of the cab section being weaved.

David as, is it Bill or Ben... the Flower pot men.
You will have to be of a certain age to get that one.

Checking proportions again for the Train.

Added the front section to the Train for the light and fitting the cow catcher/snow plough to at the front.
Plus adding the curve to cover part of the wheels as we decided to make them more on the bulky side this time width wise.
Hoping they last better as the Train has to be in place for 10 days.

Adding the supports for the cab section and then adding the Purple to give the Train a little more definition and possibly 3D look.
