Title: Millennium Jam Free Registration Comp
Post by: Graham Lee on July 31, 2010, 09:48:28 AM
At "The Dashing Diane Day" yesterday Leo came over from Belgium to join in the fun and donated a free registration for one lucky person, you will need to book travel and lodgings but the five days of balloon fun will be free. So we need to come up with a competition or a way to win, suggestions are most welcome.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Perhaps we will do a halloween competition as it's near to this date and I just got sent a sample pack from Qualatex with 8 foil halloween balloons, 1 happy new year and a 41" penguin so they could possibly be the runners up prize. We will announce the winners at "The David Grist Memorial Lecture" on the 8th Sept in Birmingham.

Sounds good Graham.

Perhaps you should make it iron man like and specify the balloons that have to be used?

We have a plan, to enter the competition you just have to post a balloon model onto the forum that has not been posted on here before and answer 10 simple...ish balloon related questions. Everyone can enter to win even those that have booked to come on the trip already. The winner will be announced at "The David Grist Memorial Lecture in September.
We will also have a runner up price of some helium foil halloween and christmas balloons. Hoping to post the questions later tonight.

The other bit was posting something that has never been posted here before.......wow !!!!!!

There is so much here, but after a search, no one has done Wallace and Grommit

Kevin, the idea was only for something you have not posted before so that we get some fresh pictures and not re-cycled work, nice wallace and grommet though.

Oooopppps

Although Wallace and Grommit are on my web-site I have never posted them on any forum anywhere before, so they are fresh here, but I have re-cycled them from when I made them a while ago.

I am away for the weekend, but when I get back I will try something new, maybee with the 646's :D

I hope I loaded the picture right. This was the only sculpture I made that I was able to photo at the Tjam On The Road a couple weeks ago.I actually had no clue I had it until day before yesterday so I thought this would be a great place to share it.

I used it as my first days Through the door competition entry. This was my first ever event other than some local jams so be kind to me.

Edit:
Its supposed to be a clown on a circus stool on a ball. He has a pump thats in one hand going from the hand to the flower on his chest. The blue is water coming off the flower to water his "garden" below him. Titled "How clowns like to water"
Edit 2 : I was inspired by Ed Chee (rose) Patrick Van Dee Ven (clown his "little guy" balloon magic) Monsieur Sigrid For the woven cactus/leaves. (modeling preform-air dvd)

Edit3: haha so sorry I just wanted to say thanks for this contest Leo (my sons name!!) and Graham. Also amazing Wallace and Grommit and what a great piece Patrica. You folks inspire and wow me constantly..Thank you!!!

i made this costume after the millenium jam 2008 for caerphillys parade of lights. my son asked me to make something special for the parade so decide on this snowman costume that i wore all the way through caerphilly town centre and it was jam packed.( never had so many photos taken of me ever) it is entwined with balloon decor lights.
