Quote from: "Stefan"its pretty smart i must say,

I want something a bit smaller than a bag / trolley though,

something simple like a rucksack but just tall enough to house the balloons standing up so that i can see all of the colours at once...  :?:  :?:  :?:

STEFAN check out this link sounds like it could be what your after

Here is our solution to rolling our balloons.  I don't like the foam, it doesn't slide easily into the bags.  I put about 60 balloons of 2 colors into a report cover and roll it and put a rubber band around the outside, then I can slide them into our bag.
These last quite a while.
We usually count our balloons into groups of 15 and wrap with a 350 scrap...they are easier on the balloons than rubberbands.  Then dark blue and light blue, lime green and dark green are stored together so that we don't grab a brown when we want a black.
Here is our bag set-up.

I did offer on our websites the balloons already rolled up and ready to put into the busking bag and apron, we had it advertised on the sight at a guess for at least 9 months and no one took us up on the offer. I think we were chaging an extra 50p per bag for this.

you were selling them all rolled up and ready to go Graham?  I wish you were over here... I would have paid the little extra so I wouldn't have to do it!  lol :D

Rose, I love the idea about using report covers...I will definitely have to try that.  It sounds way better than how I've been doing it.
I've been using craft foam sheets (balloons rolled inside them), which works great because of the stiffness, they just don't slide into my bag quite as easy as I think the report covers would.  Thanks for sharing that idea!

I use the bags itself of Q balloons to roll them and put into my big sports bag, but I will try the covers too. Thanks for the idea!

I LOVE our 2 Filbert pumps. (Filbert has been great about replacing the bases). We would not be able to operate near as efficiently without them.  Of course when jamming I usually use a mesh holder for my purple pump and clip it on my waist.

and just so it isn't confusing.  When we receive our orders, we wrap 15 in a strand and put them into our drawer system with the 350 scrap on them.... when we fill our bag we ditch the 350 and just put them into the covers. The covers came about quite by accident.  Someone gave us a bunch of free ones and we didn't have a use for them, so we started to use them for the balloons.  I love them.  The clear ones eventually crack, so I like the solid ones better.  They are worth the convenience to replace every year or so.

I'd love to hear what accident you stumbled on that really works.  Today, we're picking up a new setup of a bag on a tripod, so that it is going to be at working height.  We'll be using it tomorrow in the restaurant for the 1st time.

I use A4 overhead projector sheets. They work a treat. One sheet for every 100 260s or 350s, rolled up tight with two elastic bands each end. As balloons are pulled out of the tube I find it self tightens. They get a little loose when there are ten or so balloons left in the tube but then I know it's time to refill.

It is hard work preparing the tubes upon receipt of a new order but I just put a good movie on the TV and can now prepare the tubes without really looking.

The tubes can be stored in any type of bag or box. Sometimes I just grab a few tubes and put them in a rucksack or use my balloon bag. Whatever I fancy at the time.

wow this thread is still getting replies after almost 2 years.. Its good to see!

I dont pack my balloons in these plastic laminated tubes anymore, I found they didnt roll tight enough when I was down to the last few balloons, I personally use the bags of the qualatex, and just bundle them all in colours, (all blues's banded together in a big bunch, reds, greens and so on)

Graham, I didn't know you offered them pre-rolled. Would have paid extra for that myself. I hate sorting and filling the balloon bag as I always seem to leave it til the last minute
