Hi there everyone

Hope this finds you all keeping well :)

It's my nieces' birthdays in a couple of weeks and I wanted to send them a balloon through the post - they live in Plymouth- 4 hours from me :(

Has anyone any experience of posting balloons and making sure they arrive in one piece?

Was wondering about Royal mail next day Or a courier

Thanks in advance for your help

They arrive just fine but you will pay a reasonable amount to post it as it goes on the size of the box more than the weight.

I posted one last week, because my sister gave me late notice I had to gaurentee it for the next day so it was over £6.00 to post, but I asked at the time how much it would be to just send it 1st class and that was £2.37, that box just had a balloon some tissue paper a small weight and a birthday card, and it was one of the balloon boxes you can get

It really depends on the size of the box. The balloon in a box boxes are reasonably small compared to the size you need for some models. I have been charged £6 plus for 1st class parcel and all because the box was apparently too big to be sent as a package. I think it also depends on the PO but I would not rely on their website as I often post balloon models and have yet to be charged the same amount as they have stated on their site!!!

Sometimes it is cheaper to use a courier service who collect from your door and deliver next day. I used parcel2go.com - saves having to queue at the post office as well.

Thanks for this Darren - I've just had a look at their website and is a lot cheaper than I would have thought!  This might be an easier option :)

Appreciate the advice :)

Take care
