Title: Re: Leaving Balloon Chat
Post by: G L Admin on March 18, 2014, 03:25:58 PM
After a week and one hour I have de-activated Daniel's account. I think I left it open too long so apologies if some were fed up and getting annoyed with me.

So what to do with Daniels posts and threads? Shall I just delete them all including everyone's replies?
Would everyone be OK with this? If not then please post either way with suggestions otherwise I will start deleting them tomorrow morning.

Although I do not post very often on this site. I do check in at least twice daily to look for inspiration and new ideas. I agree completely with removing all of these posts as they are neither in the spirit of the forum or constructive in any way. Will try to upload some of the things I have been up to since joining this time last year following the care and share day I attended. Which I must say was brilliant.

I think I would just delete it all Graham, not worth wasting our time on.  It's much more fun to talk balloons!!

Have you read all of Daniels' posts Craig, from this week here now and from two years ago?

I have looked over not looked back 2 years ago but he came back with a fresh start

He only started getting funny when people started having a go at him

So it seems you were like myself, not too sure what to do but someone had to do something and I did give Daniel plenty of opportunity to calm it down. There were quite a few PM's back and forward, I'm a little reluctant to say too much now as Daniel does not have a way to reply to anything that is written here now.
It was a difficult situation, please remember we had it exactly the same two years ago and "the mob" ? Really?

You have been a member from the outset, are the people you share and exchange ideas with really a mob?

I have been here from day one it's true I left them came back as for the mob quote  it just looks like every one was ganging up like a mob ( large crowd not horse head pillow mob ) and as more people got involved he got more pissed off and started to get rude but what would you do if was getting ganged up on ?

I suppose we will just have to disagree then Craig, I have just re-read all this thread, every page and sorry I do not see anyone other than Daniel being rude, Thelma offered advice. Norman asked him to chill a little, Stuart actually apologised and you can see one or two others getting fed up. I do not think anyone bullied Daniel, It did get out of hand but he just seemed to see the negative in everything.

Just so that everyone is aware I do plan to delete this thread tomorrow but happy to move the last few posts over to a new thread if you would like them left?

Hello Graham and everyone

I have purposely left it until now to reply to this thread, I was away last week and did not see all the commotion until yesterday (Monday), I have only been a member on this site for a year now so do not know of the problems from a few years ago, I also managed to avoid the commotion of last week too and I am not going to start trawling through hundreds of messages just to find out what its all about.

Anyway, here are my thoughts (from an outsider looking in at the aftermath). There have Obviously been some major problems with a member, I can see by reading some of the messages on this thread that there was a time a few years ago when things took a turn for the worse and it seems to have happened again. From my point of view this is (usually) a very friendly forum, it is a wonderful place to come and share ideas and talk about balloons and I would LOVE to see it stay that way, I don't post a great deal but when I do post I really like the replies I get and everyone is always so great. When I was seeing some of the messages for the first time yesterday I was almost afraid to post anything in fear of getting pulled into an argument with someone. To be honest in reality I don't give a monkeys what you say to me, Its like water off a ducks back BUT thats me, what about other people, are they going to be afraid to post too??

This is a friendly forum, not somewhere to get angry, and in the long run its Grahams Forum, he pays a lot to keep it going and works hard to keep it running, I know its a constant battle for him to keep things ticking over in here so what ever he decides to do will be the right decision, Personally I think all of this non balloon related rubbish should be deleted so that things can return to normal as soon as possible. Yes there may have been an increase in visitors to the site but are these the right visitors? Someone mentioned it being like a car crash, That's exactly what it is like, something disastrous happens and what you want is the helpful traffic (fire engines, ambulances, Police) but what you actually end up with is a 40 mile long queue of rubber neckers trying to see who is getting CPR on the side of the road, is that the type of traffic you want to the site?

I don't actually know if I have made any useful comments here, probably not, I do tend to just ramble. I guess what I am trying to say is can we just get things back to normal please?

On the plus side I am REALLY looking forward to Leeds next week, WOOHOOOOOO

Rob

I honestly think he is a sad and lonely man and needs help and friends..... but not sure this is the place for the therapy he needs...
He frightened me, last time with all his comments, hence why I said nothing this time till I thought it was safe to do so... (I know big brash me... but we are all human)

Why else would anyone come back after last time.....

Unfortunately Daniel's vitriol against this forum spilled over onto another platform (a Facebook group I am a member of), but I think it was deleted by a moderator as it really didn't have any relevance to the group. I did respond to his initial post but his replies (I think) were what prompted the thread to be deleted. I think it's a shame when someone bites the hand that feeds them as I have never found anything but helpful and friendly people on this forum.

just read some of Daniels posts on facebook... takes me back to what was agreed 2 years ago ... Its YOU Graham he has a problem, it YOU he wants to be... he has wholesale/retail site (though as above at £3.60 dont know what balloons he is selling) and he has a forum being promoted... and he is doing helping others days/charity gigs...

Problem is he is NOT You and can never be.... And WE dont want him to be

Sorry next time he comes back with all his apologies, please ignore them cos it wont change... he will do the same again..its just pure jealousy

I am also surprised about the cost of his balloons, but I do not understand why keeping the balloons outside in a shed would be relevant or a problem, I have been doing this for over twenty years without a problem, other than sometimes I have to warm the balloons up

That's OK - that means David's family will be receiving larger donations - NOT!

I thought the retailer paid for them and the family got the money that way not when they sell them or are you saying you think he will be selling copy's ?

No, all I am saying is Graham sells them for a lesser price and David's family gets 100% of the profit.

Just to clarify for everyone, if I sell a single DVD of David's then the family get £10 and if I sell the full set they get £7.50 per DVD.
