I have been looking through the so called new members and after number 378 zoesfaces of the rest I think only about 15 are genuine members.

The genuine ones are in my opinion?

So we need to make a decision, so could you please put up a post saying hi to everyone as from next Monday 9th March I will start to delete all the members after 378 due to spam problems with spyware and unwanted emails advertising things of an adult nature.

If anyone has any ideas on who is genuine and what is spam any help with this would be appreciated.

I'm uncertain what you're asking of us, but I assure you I'm a real balloon artist. We met at Twist & Shout and even discussed the SPAM problem.

Yes my post is somewhat unclear
I was asking for new members from number 378 onwards to PM me or put up a post so that I know they are a genuine member as I believe that about 90% who have registered after 378 are spam.
I would like to delete them but I dont want to accidently remove someone that is a proper member, the idea was to cut down on the advertising emails of an adult nature that we keep receiving.

If you click on the members tag below the balloon chat logo a list of members come up with a number next to them, well it does for me so fingers crossed you will have the same format.

See what you mean Graham - thats hard - especially when you have so many members with 0 postings:

Maybe you can do a Blitz round robin PM to all members ( dont ask me if its possible, I am just suggesting it may be) asking them to do a posting even just a 'Hi' introduction.

Come on all you Zero's dont be watchers - get involved - its about helping each other - give and take - not one sided - there is nothing to be scarred about - we dont bite Honest (well not very hard anyway)

I would just delete them all Graham. If they haven't posted with say a week, and have zero posts, just delete them all. If they are 'that' interested, they'll soon rejoin.

I agree with our esteemed colleague Mr Billy Wiz, give them a short time, then delete them. Make an announcement or start a topic staing evetyone should at least say hi when joining and those that don't get binned.
I am sure anyone who is very enthusiastic and is binned by mistake will quickly re-join and understand why what happened happened.

The only one I've accepted was locksmithmiami, all the rest I'm not sure about.
I normally get between 10/15 a day similar to the above trying to join the forum

My Polish friend looked at those and says he knows them all from back home. LOL

As a relatively new member, I can say I would not have objected to you sending an email back when I applied asking for a bit of history as to why i want to join before you authorized me.  You could also mention that once one is accepted, that they are expected to post a welcome, whoami posting within a week in order to maintain forum status.  It's a pain for you... but if you have time to do that much, it will keep this awesome forum cleaner.  Now that you have the balloonchat.com working, it will probably become a bit bigger headache!  

If you wanted to even make it more challenging to get forum access, ask for them to send back a photo of something they have twisted along with themself in the same photo!... that would definitely sort out those who are interested.

I have started emailing all members that have not posted onto the forum yet as we need to try and sort out the ongoing spam problems with the site. If anyone has not yet posted could you please do so as it will help me with sorting out the problem as I need to email over 225 people.
