I have used sharpies for years but I am going off them a little. Does anyone know of an alternative pen that produces a solid black line on the first attempt? I know David Brenion mentioned a suitable pen but I cannot remember which ones he recommended. Does anyone remember?

I use the mini sharpiest they fit into the busking bag well, but at that price I might just pick a few up.  Also the white I use, really doesnt want to play, too runny by half so if any one can recommend a good white that would be great.

I use sharpies but I also use expo dry wipe markers. Great dark colour and don't liquify as the balloon shrinks or pops, so no transfere. You can get these in fine but disappointingly they are not very dark.

I use Pentell maxi flow, these are the ones that David uses as well, it has a push button gadget to keep the ink at the tip end.
These are the best black ever; I hate sharpies as they are grey in comparison
