Bongo Balloons asked
QuoteI would be interested to know how many of the people that attend the care and share days do a stage show?

I perform balloon shows. But I have been busy this year (yay) so haven't been able to come to many of the C&S days.

I think UK Balloon Twister performer of the Year from the Balloon Artists Guild would mean something. Another great idea from Graham!

Having been to Kidology this year and entered into the competition as well as been to The Millenium Jam & Twist and Shout conventions. I think all the catergories should be entered either live, or video. So there is a chance for all.

So for example the three minute competition can be at a well publicised Care & Share Day, plus other entries submitted to the judges beforehand (for example).

But I like the idea.

Sounds like a fun idea, Graham.  I hope it gains some traction and lots of people choose to submit.

I don't enter competitions because I am not quite up the standard of many of you - yet! That's why this group is so good.
Graham,  is there anything to stop someone winning the twist and shout competition and selling on their prize slightly cheaper to someone that wants to and can go? This would make two winners!

I'm not sure this is the idea for me to offer the prize, if this was done then the registration is $180 so someone would sell it on for $100 and there are conditions to winning it, posting a few times while at the event so it waters down the prize. Maybe someone will give me a good reason why this would work but at the moment I think no.

The idea behind offering the prize was that over the years the balloon industry has I like to think been great to me and I would like to give a little back, David was just a laugh and I think we got on because he would ask me what I thought of something and I would give him an honest answer. Sometimes my honesty has gotten me into trouble lately but if people ask me what I think then I will be honest and it's just only my opinion. Colin has been a great friend, better not say too much as he gets embarrassed    Leo in the early days gave me some excellent advice which will always be greatly appreciated. Then the list just goes on, Lyn for putting up with me, everyone who has taught at a care and share day, in the early days many would give their time for free. There was no sponsorship and the days were free, even now the money we pay lecturers, they would be better off staying at home but then think of the FUN and LAUGHTER they would miss out on if they did not attend the days, so to ALL that have lectured and given there time so freely it is really appreciated. To all those that attend, help set up and dismantle the venue, bring sandwiches, cream cakes, offer advice, keep the hall tidy, to all the BAG members who come along to the days, to the members who never get along for whatever reason...........
wow I think I could go on and on and on here and for one moment I thought I was going to  :)
So the last person I do need to thank as they have been on board for a long time and have helped out at the days lecturing, working on the stands at many different events, goodness we have laughed together over the years and now and again cried together. And in my opinion they are possibly one of the most talented twisters around today, so thanks Thelma.

Well, that's definitely several good reasons why someone should not sell the prize on.
Thank you!

Graham and balloon chat freinds, sorry ive not been around for a while.
just been catching up ,and love this post, re- stage performance, i have been doing  some kids entertaining, every sat for a few weeks, this is mainly in a way of team challenges, using balloons more than standing making balloons. i tried the link you gave graham but didnt get it.
also i have been working on a balloon puppet ( glove puppet style), and have the info on the mouth workings, ready to post, just need to sort out the head instructions , to be honest it will look familiar and i am not claiming it as purely mine.. so this might help any one wanting to do a show...
i like the idea we sent you pictures/video, as like most would prob not be able to attend.
