On Saturday I decorate the home of a couple getting married. Not so special on it's own until you hear that 1.5 weeks earlier he was told he was terminal and he had days to live rather than weeks and they were granted a special licence to marry.  They were just going to do it on a shoe string (as the bride has twin 13 year old and a disabled 8 year old son) but her maid of honour got in touch with the local radio station and asked them to help out.

They in turn put the word out to everyone they could think of to try and help these people have the perfect day. It was beautiful to see so many people pull together for them and that they were so overwhelmed by the number of people that wanted to help.

I also had a decorator from Norfolk (Graham Laycock - Absolute Balloony) phone me on Friday evening to offer his help too.  I've included a couple of the photos of what I did at their house because it was unlikely the groom would have been able to stay at the official reception for very long.

Well done Yvonne balloons look great... Hope they had a fantastic day with lots of happy memories

We had a similar sort of booking early saturday - We got a phone call from local hospice would we fill their 200+ printed foil balloons with helium for a walk and face paint the flower logo on faces of those that wanted - start 7am fpainting 8.30-10.30am

Amazing Atomosphere by the 230 ish people who came to raise funds for the hospice - one family had Mum, 3 daughters and 5 young grandaughters all walking and Grandad had only died 6 weeks earlier!!! but they promised him they would do it.. I did ask Nan if she was Ok to be tols he had lived with it for 11 years and was grateful to have lived to see his grandchildren born as he had none when diagnosed.... heart wrenching the stories you hear of others lives at times...
