Hoping this is possible. . . . . can you make a spiral balloon arch using 3 colours? It's probably obvious but my mind just can't think of a solution!!

I need to work this out by Friday. I was honest on the phone as it's a regular booker, and explained I wasn't sure if it would work. She has said she's happy to go for a fourth colour if three aren't possible, as I knew that would be possible.

Hoping someone can help. Many thanks

Just spoken to Roger (Thanks Roger) and now have a solution.

Just out of curiosity what would you have done? :)

Hi Graeme

Here's my tuppenceworth --

Generally spiral arches are clusters of 3, 4 or 5 balloons, but most commonly a 4 cluster (or quad) is used.  Personally, I would avoid a 3 balloon cluster as it doesn't look as full as a 4 and nowhere near as full as a 5.  So, I would have gone for a quad with the pattern (for the sake of argument) red, white, blue, white.  This keeps the overall balance of the piece.

My advice too would be double up on one colour as described.

What a day!!!!

This arch was ordered last minute on Wednesday, so the balloons were ordered on Thursday in time to arrive on Friday morning ready to make the arch in the afternoon on Friday.

The first problem . . . . . my balloon order which arrives via UPS, and which ALWAYS arrives first thing in the morning, didn't arrive until 2pm. The arch had to be built and completed by 4pm.

The second problem . . . . . they sent the wrong colours!!!!!! No spring lilac! I called the company I was making the arch for and explained, they didn't sound too happy, even though it was their fault for ordering last minute, but I can't imagine her telling her bosses that.

I did the arch with the help of my son in less than an hour. We did the top of the arch in chocolate brown and spring lilac (I had a few of the spring lilac required) and then went into chocolate brown and lime green, the chosen colours. They wanted all three colours so I had to make do with what I had.

I'll post a pic later.

OOoohhh the bottom half reminds me of a mint aero.  LOL considering you did this in a rush it looks lovely.

If you get in a pickle like this again I can always nip down to GO international and send the balloons you need special delivery if you like.  Always happy to help if I can although having said that if you had asked me earlier this week I would have declined because my back went the worst it ever has and on Monday and Tuesday I could barely move and was high on my much stronger painkillers  ;)

Excellent arch love it.  I would have done the same as the others 4 balloon cluster with 2 of one colour and singles of the other colours.

Anyhow, it looks very impressive they should have been pleased with that.

Did you use a frame or not for it?  Just interested.

I use white plastic tubing with dowel joining it. Nice and flexable.

I'm still on a learning curve though, working my way through whats best and what I prefer to use.

I actually hated that arch, but it's what she wanted with the two colours on top and then the sides the way they are, due to the lack of colours all over.

Your wholesaler should have it graeme.

I have been making a (what seemed like) never ending stream of 4-5ft high hearts for restaurant windows this week and it is what I used.

It is about £7 for 4metres.

Dumb question time but what do you use to stand the hearts up with or are they always hanging?
