I forgot to mention, the other day when I made an outdoor arch, I used a generator. Plugged in my Conwin, it came on for just a second or two and then went off. Tried a different cable, also tried the same cable on my Mipro PA and it worked OK, so it wasn't the cable.

Somehow, the generator had knackered the Conwin. My brother's an electrician, he's had a look at it and thinks it's just a fuse inside, he's going to try that in a minute and let me know, fingers crossed.

So just thought I would give you guys a word of warning regards generators.

Unfortunatley it wasn't the fuse, it's the circut board itself. Not sure how much this will cost to get fixed.  :(

it's made me realise that I want to have two of these pumps in case anything happens during a big job. I'm going to order another one today and get this one fixed as a back up.

I know this is a bit horse has bolted for you Graeme, but I always use a surge protection socket when using a generator for my pa. If I use my duel seizer where there is no power point I use a leisure battery (car battery designed for caravans etc) with a 240 converter. (I do have a Heidi which runs of 12v which I use most of the time in this situation). I just don't understand why Conwin don't make the duel seizer 12v as it would make it a lot more flexibal.
When it comes to the day I arive at the pearly gates I hope to slide in sideways saying to st Peter WOW!!! what a ride.

OOPS!!

If you send an email to mailto:John@conwinonline.com">John@conwinonline.com - you will find him ever so helpful and they may even sell you a new circut board

When ordering your new one check out the various wholesalers they sell them at different prices. UPUP always used to be best price, and even check conwinonline.com website or maybe even a chat to John - its conwins 50th anniversary year this year and at spring fair they where giving 10% discount to celebrate it.

If you are buying a new one and having that as back up they may even fix the old one for you! Its always worth an ask!

I spoke to John this afternoon Pam, he said it would have to be sent back to Conwin to sort out the circut board, but he also said it's never the same after and would be quite expensive to sort. :(

I've ordered another one from Pioneer, I just assumed tha UpUp would be the same price as they use Pioneer's catologue. Didn't really think to look around.
