I am not to sure if I have put this in the right section, but I am thinking of going to a couple of local wedding fairs to try and drum up some business. Has anyone ever done wedding fairs? Have they been any use? What sort of things did you take with you to show on your stall?

Thanks
Michelle

Michelle there are three pages of results if you put in wedding fares in the search button that may help you out.

this discussion has come up before..

My tips

keep it simple in colours - do not do Rainbow it just confuses
I find brides cannot look at a colour and change it to their colour so we predominately use white and ivory in our wedding fair designs and the brides always seem to be able to look at them and see them in their colours... Unless of course one colour dominates the season as black & white did a few years ago..

But seriously its best to pick a colour theme and stick to it for all your designs..

We offer a personal service, so we dont do the BIG wedding fairs - we have in the past either done them ourselves or been employed to promote other companies on their stands and I find - YES you get lots of brides, but you also get lots of competition and lots of stands so you end up just being a leaflet giver outer with no time to talk to anyone... ( went to one with daughter when she was getting married and all the leaflets are still in the bag as she did not know which ones related to the people she liked!! 7 years on)

so we prefer the smaller ones, and also prefer the hotels that recommend our services... whats the point of standing in a fair and every bride that asks the hotel gets someone elses details who is not there.. so I support those that support me..

other thing we do is get them to fill in a form so you know who has been talking to you - a lot of wedding fairs will give details to exhibitors of attendance, but its nice to know the ones who want your service
