Roger

I was recently asked to do a product test of this little red rechargeable balloon pump. I have not been a fan of electric pumps and I have tried a few in the past and found them a bit noisy clumsy or not very well made.
I have used the pump at my retail outlet in London at decorating jobs and at 2 entertainment gigs, and have found this to be a very good all-round pump for the price.
The pump feels well made and very solid compared to other electric pumps I have tried in this price range. As to charge I received it on a Monday with the " from factory" charge and it lasted for ages before I needed to charge it. When I did charge it I only had a couple of hours before the gig on the Sunday morning and after 2 hours on charge I then went and did a gig which lasted 4 hours and during this time inflated quite a few balloons and it coped admirably.
Retail use:- I like to add round balloons and other  such  decorations to bubble balloons etc, and I found this to be a really good tool for the job. It does not take up to much room on my work area and I found it a real asset.
Decoration use:- I have a precision air so would not use it for inflation of 5" on a large scale but found it a real bonus when it came to inflation of 160, 260 & 350 balloons it provides a good steady flow of air (not good for 646's). I found it really easy to make balloon spirals using this pump as it was not to fast but powerful enough. (I did use it to inflate the occasional 5" and found it a very handy tool).
Entertainment: - During the 2 gigs no one mentioned the noise made by the pump (and I did not find it intrusive). The pump comes with a clip to go on your belt I found it a little awkward to wear and use and would definitely be uncomfortable. I preferred to use the shoulder strap when walking around but found it best used on a table. It was knocked of a table at one stage and did not seem to suffer at all.

Would I buy one yes it's not changed my life but I have found it a real asset.

Hi Roger,

Does it auto shutdown after some continuous use and then refuses to work for ten minutes or so?

Any idea of price?

Where can you buy one?

Nice review - thanks

I will add it to the review index.

Cheers

Hi Nippy,

I had a go on this and messed around with it at Roger's Balloon Shack. Its really great, and Roger paints an honest picture in his review.

There is a power button that can easily switch between on continuous, intermittent when you push down, and off.

I hope this helps,

Danny  :)

It didn't on me and I left it running for ages at times. just to see how it would run.

Any idea of price?

At the last care & share day I got to have a play with Roger's battery operated pump. I really liked it and it is as good as Roger says. Especially good for spiralling 160Qs and 260Qs.

I contacted the manufacturer in China who refused to deal direct even for a bulk order and was passed to their Italian distributor. They offered me a 50% discount but by the time I have added shipping and VAT it is only a few pounds cheaper than purchasing it in the UK.

So I paid around £108 for this - yes expensive, but I really do want it! Hoepfully it will arrive in time for my Birthday :-)

Sounds a good pump.

I have been looking to buy an electric pump, so thank you for your honest reviews. It is good to know it has had the thumbs up from people who know what they are talking about !!

Is it available in the UK yet, or do you have to go via the Italian supplier ??
Kind regards
Kevin

Kevin, I spent a lot of time trying to import from the manufacturer in China and they kept insisting I go via their Italian distributor. Once I've added shipping, VAT it only worked out a few pounds more to buy from upupandaway. Since buying it, I have only charged it once!

This pump will not be good for a busy professional gig, it's slow to inflate but it works a treat. Perfect for curling 160s.

I like to use this one at home when I am feeling lazy or a little worn out!

I am really pleased with it.

Hi

I have a friend in China and he has spoken to the Director of the company. They directed me to Italy also but they did say that they would be available on the Chinese market from mid March for about 600 RMB or about £61. I am going to try and get hold of one after this date so I will see how easy it is. In June I will be in China so I may be able to get some then.

Excellent - give your orders to Rob!

I guess it is handy if you are visiting China, but at £61 plus shipping and import duty (if you are unlucky) they are not that much cheaper.
