Title: a basic 'palette'
Post by: Smiggle on May 27, 2008, 10:04:41 AM
As i get more into twisting I will probably need to buy more single colours as opposed to the mixed bags I've been using up till now.

Any suggestions on a good basic colour 'palette'  to stock a busking bag for line work / busking??

What else is in your bag / box apart from the balloons??

Graham...

Don't reply to this because you'll probably suggest ten bags of every colour you stock in 160. 260 and 360's

19 colors: Red solid, (grey & Clear), (Blush, Chocolate, Mocha), (yellow, goldenrod, orange) (dk blue, Robin egg, Pale), (rose, lavender, violet purple), (lime, wintergreen, Dk Green, teal) .....Added to this is 160's white, black, blush, clear and carnival assortment. All in a gallon size ziplock bag un-closed this gets inserted into my belt pouch.

To see a visual of this go here and click back and forth thru my pictures:

Thanks Mark - that helps - it will be interesting to see how other twisters think on this.

Unfortunately my kids are 26 and 30 so I don't have a cheap labour pool available... it looks like I will have to do it all by myself... (looking for sympathy... anyone? any where?? ... oh well)  :D   :D

Hi Smiggle,

Red, orange, greens, blues, black, browns, yellow, white, pink, purple, clear, blush, silver, gold. Plus Light/darker versions of some of them.
I also have round balloons, in 5" and 9" and some 646's, 360's, 160's  & hearts too.

In addition to the balloons: Sharpie pens (retractable) in red green blue and black. Scissors, and biz cards. I usually have my list of stuff I do in my pocket, just in case i forget and get stuck in a rut of the same model.

All in a double balloon buskers bag.

hope that helps

Danny

Well even though I was asked not to reply :D
Here is what I use when I'm out twisting, the triple busking bag is about 2/3 rds full of all the 260 fashion colour range with mixed bags of 160's & 360's.
I also have 160' & 260' in mixed metallic bags as well.

In the screw box that I got from a large DIY chain there is again the full range of 260 plus in the front left compartment I have small selection of 160's with a few black marker pens  & hearts. The front right compartment has the 360's, a pair of scissors and a balloon cutter in.

Hope you dont mind me joining in on this thread

Thanks Guys

That's very helpful I'll start building that up over the next month or so hopefully it will increase productivity in line situations and keep the wife a little happier because there are no... errr... OK... not so many part bags hanging around the house.

I saw the screw box at Birmingham Care and Share Graham and I like that idea too.

I use velcro tape like Marks to keep all the cables etc for my disco in order so I can now get my rear in gear and sort myself out

Very restrained Graham - thanks    :P
