Title: Basic Sword Tutorial (2)
Post by: Graham Lee on January 28, 2009, 10:56:47 PM
Inflate the Sempertex 260 modelling balloon so that you have a 3 finger length un-inflated section at the end of the balloon.

The handle for the sword should be a 5 finger twist followed by a 6/8 finger bubble that is fold/loop
twisted into the twist for the handle.
More information on the fold/loop twist can be found here;

Make another fold/loop twist the same size as your first one and twist this around the twist you made for the handle of the sword.

To finish make another 6/8 finger fold/loop twist and again twist into the handle of the sword.
Straighten the sword blade and wait for the children to start fighting  ;)

This might seem like a silly question, but how do you get the 'blade' to go straight? I realise my balloons are old and have been packed away for ages so may not be the best quality any more, but is it as simple as this? Or is there something I can do to make the balloon straight?

Just try running your hand firmly down the balloon trying to take the curve out.

I tend to gently stretch the blade once i've finished to straighten it.
