I have always wanted a good dolphin balloon. In the past I've searched the net but never found anything I like. The ones I've found never really look much like a dolphin. Open to any suggestions please. Thank you

Attached is a picture of the old version of the one balloon dolphin that's in my book.  I no longer have 2 bubbles for the snout though.  Instead, there's just one ear twist and it looks altogether much more friendly.  I'll be showing this at Birmingham.  It's always very popular and very easy to construct.    :ugeek:old-dolphin.jpg[/attachment:2iqn88sf]

Graeme,
Here is the dolphin hat which I normally only make if someone asks for a dolphin.
The pictures don't do it justice.

I like that one - I may try that out next week - no time this weekend because I'm in London all weekend as my daughter is running in the London Marathon.

Enjoy the experience, it is fantastic. I hope your daughter does the time she wants but most of all enjoys it. It is something to have done  :D

Good luck to your daughter hope she does well. I ran it 2 years ago and it was one of the best experiences of my life!

Then I tried again last year but got ill and had to pull out halfway.. but thats another story!!

This is a quick dolphin. It uses two balloons for the actual dolphin and one for the base.  It can be used as a hat or just placed on a table and it stands fine.

Have been tweaking a little dolphin for years shown to me by Bebop in Auckland, but this thread gives a great range of construction types, will have to revisit it and post some of mine (bumping the thread, obviously...)

This is not the best dolphin in the world ( by a long chalk)

However when you are working to crowds in a pay per sculpture set up, which I do a lot, it is quick, does the job, and is worth anyones hard earned cash  :D

i know some of you will frown on me as i dont own dvds yet and watch youtube for inspiration...  but i found a fab dolphin that i just love along the way :) I actually saw one guy do it, and say he'd seen another... no idea where it traces back to but if its permitted and anyone is interested i can add the link?  Its a 3 balloon model but looks wonderful in my opinion. I changed the colours and the dimentions a little for my personal taste, I used grey for the top and silver for the under belly... my 8 year old fell instantly in love with it, its prob the first thing in months ive made that she's actually taken a liking to as everything is just an overload for the poor things now!

I have a photo of my one, slightly unpoofy though as its a week old now... but im happy to post it if i may? Im so worried about this whos design and credit thingy thing!!!!!!  :?  x

Just post away, does the link not mention who the person is?

I can name the youtube person? or just add the youtube link i traced it back to?? I'll go with the link and cross my fingers!
:?   My dolphin is looking quite poorly actually LOL... maybe just the link for now !
I changed it by making him a tiny bit longer on one or 2 of the sections and in turn it became less full looking somehow if that makes sense so it could kind of bend in the middle to make it more like the curvy dolphin shape i always think of   and grey& silver not blue and white...

so for me, I shall say thankyou Warrenann on youtube (who says in his tutorial he's used it ages and cant remember where it came from   )

Ps- I also removed the handle bit after a day as i lost count of adults and children all asking why on earth it had genitals!!!!!!!!!!!  :o  LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it's definately dolphiny! Very cute :-) I think I liked the other one as it was less cartoonish, but randomly I like this one for its cartoony characteristics if that makes sense?! Is it a self taught design or one you picked up along your adventures?x

I was tidying up the forum today putting welcome posts into the welcome thread, pictures in the righ thread etc etc and came across this dolphin thread. Thought nothing more of it till I was taking the balloon orders up to the post office this afternoon and a thought struck me, so home I came to see if it would be any good and it possibly may help one or two. There again it may not so who knows, anyway this is what it was, a simple 2 balloon dolphin hat slightly different to the first one I posted a while ago.

Although the second picture is incorrect with the back tail fin going the wrong way I think it does look nicer this way.

Still playing with the Dolphin design, trying to move the top fin up for a more natural look, but maybe we are loosing the plot and over complicating things?

This is it, my favourite Dolphin (At the moment) Trying to work out why but I think it still looks smooth and has the lines and smoothness of a Dolphin, well for me it has.
Don't forget it is a balloon, which is what I like, you can tell it's a balloon.
