Hi
This is my first post do go easy on me please :-)
I have only been twisting for a couple of weeks but I am loving it and it is so addictive. I am having problems with the tulip twist though.  I struggle to get my finger out when I have inserted the nozzle and sometimes my finger forms a vacuum and the balloon bursts. What am I doing wrong or do I just need practice?

It really does take practice!  The one tip I can give you is to make sure that your fingers on the outside of the balloon are pushing down on the balloon to allow your finger on the inside to get out.  Good luck!

I was having trouble with these too, I found that I have had less poppages since I took to my tulip twist finger with a nail file (so now there are no edges left on my finger at all) I guess any kind of little compromise in the latex with this kind of twist can lead to trouble.

I wear a cotton glove when I'm making tulip twists it avoids your fingers to get stuck and also greatly reduces pop risks.

instead of pushing the knot down try making a small bubble and pushing that down then you can actually pull it down from the outside of the balloon instead of pushing it down from the inside - this works extreamely well escpecially for loget tulip twists or hook twists
