Ok, this may seem like a really dumb question but I have seen various balloon faces with a little round nose.  It can't be a raison twist because it is too perfect.  Can anyone tell me how this is done?

I believe you turn the balloon inside out, or you could just put a small bubble for the nose inside the balloon. Inflate and place the bubble in the correct place
and then use the lip of the balloon from the outside to hold the nose in place by figure of eighting the lip knot over the inside nose bubble.
Not sure that makes sense, sounds as clear as mud to me.

Do you mean something like this? If so, I make it from an end scrap, tie off a small bubble at end and use the remainder uninflated to pass through head and attach to the body.
If it is not this method, sorry.

I think it is a nose like this Stuart but may be wrong, I used a dark blue inside for the bubble. Should have been a blush for colour continuity .

Yes, that's the one Graham!  I will try that......  Not sure I understand the directions but I will try and figure it out.

Millie, try this.

1.  Inflate a blush 260 all the way to the end.  Twist off a 1 in. Bubble at the end.  Deflate the rest of the 260.  Tie a knot in the balloon at the base of the bubble and cut off the excess.
2. Place the bubble that you made in step 1 in an 11" blush round and inflate.  Make sure you don't over inflate, you need some extra play in the balloon. Cut the nozzle off the 11" round.
4.  Tilt the 11" round on its side and grab the bubble that's inside it.  If you hold it up to a light you should be able to see the bubble inside the balloon.  (Don't twist the bubble as that will create creases in the face.)  Wrap the nozzle that you cut off in step 2 around the base of the bubble, wrapping it at least twice to hold the bubble in place.

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks Lynne. When you say you wrap the nozzle around the bubble, do you mean like i would use a hair bobble to secure my girls hair?

Thanks Lynnae, that is what I was trying to say above but not very well, I could understand your version of events.

Yes Stuart, not sure if you can see the end of the balloon in my picture.

The nose was an idea shown to me by Thelma a few years back, thought I should mention that. It is on one of her CD's which is not out yet.
Yes Thelma has CD's, DVD's all done and then gets a little side tracked with other ideas and projects.

But that's not the way to do it.
You put a small bubble from a scrap inside a round balloon and then inflate it. Take the lip knot off the round balloon and catch hold of the round bubble through the skin of the balloon at the point where you want the nose.  If you catch it with the know showing on the outside, just roll it round until the knot is on the inside away from the outer balloon.  Instead of twisting this bubble and then securing it, just wrap the lip knot over the top to isolate it and keep twisting the lip knot round the bubble but never turn the bubble as it makes creases in the balloon head around the nose.  If you can do it without turning the bubble you wont get any creases. I will make on up quickly and do photos.  There is also the reverse technique I will show you too.  Will post in a few minutes

Yes it works, when doing it I thought it looked the same but at the end it is a better result. This is definitely why it's worth learning the technique from the person who came up with it,
they explain all the wrinkles (see what I did there, wrinkles, he he)
The first picture is the version I did.

Thank you everyone!!  I was wondering if that was how it was done Lynnae and that certainly makes sense.  Now I just have to try it!  My "to do" list for the day included a lot of cleaning and household stuff but I think that is going to be dumped for balloon twisting as I have also purchased the face making thing from Nickoloon, but I didn't know how to make a nose.  Ah heck, balloons are more fun than housework and after all, it is Halloween lol.
