I am currently working out 2 designs for ride on motorbikes for the same client and for once have plenty of time to work on it! However, one of the bikes has a white bit and visor at the front and I am wondering what is the best kind of weave to get the effect need.  I've attached a photo of what I am talking about.

Is the bike to be full size? Have you got any parts made so we can see the type weave/construction you are making.
You may get away with just a 646/350 to give the look and feel to the visor area.

I've tried it with 260's in a kind of dress weave but really not very sturdy (as it is not a round but open ended) but looks too bulky. I think I need to make it with 160's to look sleeker but could just do with pointers as to a kind of weave that will stand it's own weight and that I can sculpt into that curved sleek shape!

I know - I don't want much do I?

I'd recommend considering Graham's suggestion.  sometimes a single clear and curved 260 or 160 can look perfect for a clear windscreen like that.

Otherwise you could try a true flat-weave, but be very careful to get the spacing of the bubbles right so it curves the way you want.

I personally still would go for the single curved balloon, but a flatweave example is added below if you want.  Just make sure the space bubbles are exactly twice the length of the balloon you are using.  The example below is in 260's...

I only had lilac 350/260 to hand but if done in white 350/260 or 646/350 would give the appearence that you maybe looking for?
You can add to the front with another 260 attached fron the indicator to the lower twist in the bottom 260. Just an idea.

I've managed to take photos of what I have tried. This is attempt 2 as the first one was terrible! The weaving is not very neat nor very sturdy, however.  The neat is just because this is a rough draft the sturdy I think can be countered with pinch twists at each joint. I think though that I may go back to using 260's and have another go. I know I've not started far enough back on the bike and I need to make a kind of console back for the dials etc to be glued onto. I am, however, getting there slowly but surely.

This stool is way too low for this style bike but I have acquired these stools which Paul is supposedly hacking the legs down for me today!  Also going to cover the seats with 3ft rounds rather than leave them dirty cream coloured but this is how they were recieved from Freegle.

By the way thank you for the help so far. Am experimenting with everything to see what looks best and then I will take hundreds of photos. Thankfully the other bike is a bit less complicated although I will need to experiment with balloons inside balloons!
