Hi all...
Let's start with my very popular helicopter for line work.
I will judge the winner on friday.. Then they will have until next Monday to produce a sculpture...
Good luck Everyone And Have Fun..
I look forward to joining in with this Kenny when I get back from Kidology and the Twistina lecture later on in the week in Birmingham.
If only I had known, I would have booked my tickets for the start of this week instead of Friday... I at the VW Vanfest in Malvern this friday....
Hi Kenny - what a great idea for a competition - I'm going to give this one a go!
A great idea for a game Kenny. I thought I'd give it a go before I head off to the Twistina lecture later here's my attempt. ;)
Here you go Kenny.
I had to make it again as I used a 260Q for the base and I think it should really be a 160Q.

Hi all,
Some really great efforts there.... ;)
Keep em coming.....!!!
Hi all..
Firstly thank you to those who took part in the competition..
The choice was a tough one, as both creations were good with little flaws..
But the winner for the first ever balloon snap competition is.....
-"!Nippy99!"-
Nippy you have until Monday to create a sculpture for next weeks competition. And next friday you must choose a winner.
Well done Nippy99

Oh no I missed it, I have been playing about with the design this morning. Still struggling to get my pictures onto the computer so will post some variations later, hopefully.
Hi Graham, I am glad you missed the competition otherwise I would never have won! Would be great to see your design.
OK here we go... don't laugh. I know it is hard to believe but this is the first time I have ever made my own creation from scratch. I am sure it is made up of designs I have seen in the past trapped in my subliminal mind but here you go. I will pick a winner next Friday...

fish4.jpg[/attachment:3ok08nbp]
A variation, looks a little futuristic? well possibly.
My version of the balloon fish hat, the first picture was the first one I tried but I think the second has potential;
Hi Graham.. Did I miss something here.. :D .
The game is called Balloon Snap... meaning that sculptures have to be a copy of the original.. :D
Read the topic... :D :D :D  :D :D
Hi Kenny
You are right but at least Graham entered and by default it looks like he will be the winner!
I wondering whether this competition idea (which is a great one by the way) is going to continue. Two days to go so we may have a flurry of entries!
Not so fast! Here is another entry. Still not an exact copy. But along the lines of.
Hooray! Nice one Thelma. Keep those entries coming everyone. It's quite good fun once you get going.
Tomorrow is judgement day..... get your entries in quick!
Hi there,
You know I do always try to support the competitions, but I am having computer problems at the moment, so havent been able to post any pics anywhere, but once I get sorted, you won't stop me !!!!!!!
Hi Phoenix - no worries - i hope you sort out your PC issues.
I am pleased to announce that the winner of this week's SNAP is Thelma! Well done!
It took me a few hours to work through the hundreds of entries :P
So Thelma, you need to post your own design for everyone to copy with the winner being chosen next Friday.
Thanks for taking part.
Well I am sure it was a close thing Graham :D
Here is my model. I have called it "FLOGGING A DEAD HORSE"
Well done on winning Thelma and a big slap on the back to myself for coming last ;)
Flogging a dead horse was a sad joke just in case anyone didnt get it. Referring to how quiet it is on this forum. I have gone spells where I have not posted for a while too so it was a surprise to see how quiet it is when I finally found time to look in. Anyway I decided to be optomistic. So the story is the horse wasn't dead after all, just having a rest. Now it has attitude. :D.
Hi Thelma
I thought that was a great joke and 'flogging a dead horse' is how I feel. We've had the debate before about people getting more involved so I won't go there. This competition is a great way of learning new models and I am certainly enjoying it.
Come one everyone...
Finally I got a little time this week to put this one together, I really like the way the horse looks, apart from giving him too long a body.
Hi Dan
Well done on the model! The reason the horse looks a bit long in the body is the it either has to be made with a 260 and 160 or with a 260 and 350/360. The mane, front legs, bottom body bubble and tail are made from the smaller balloon. The head, neck and top body are made from the bigger balloon. I also do a version that is a little more simple using the bigger balloon for the back legs. I made one in Southport today(no yesterday) and took a photo. I will post it on here tomorrow if you like. I have to say your is definitely the best attempt so far :D
What on earth has happened to everyone????
Who to pick .... hmmmmm. Well Dan it looks like it is your turn to do a model. I dont really feel very inspired by this competition though I have to admit. But that is because I don't like copying. If it were a game where someone posted a model and you had to make it with one difference and then the next person had to change one thing etc etc. that would be more interesting to me. It would be like Chinese Whispers then and it would be interesting what the initial model turned into at the end. But perhaps it does not matter what the game is. Perhaps everyone is to busy. I am off on a two week trip so may not be able to join in anything till I get back. Hope the forum picks up. It would be a shame if it just fazzled out.
I think it would be a shame too. I like the concept of your idea Thelma, but just wonder how long it would take to really pick up. We need to get more people acting on this forum, It's a great way to meet chat help and improve our skills. But only if people join in... don't be lurkers :( . Here is one that should be easy for everybody to follow. I've been after a better but still quick dog for a long time, and a little while ago I was shown this. I have to say many thanks Yvonne. good luck to all (I hope there is an all to this one).
Come ON!!!! Where has everyone got to?
I'm not sure what the rules are, but I think it's to copy the balloon as best you can. If there's more to it, let me know.
Otherwise, here's my best shot.
100_1280.JPG[/attachment:1zvx2bdv]
100_1279.JPG[/attachment:1zvx2bdv]
This is my effort, apologies it may not look the same but I think my screan displays the models differently for some reason ;)
I like the idea of not having to use the body balloon for the back of the dogs head, it gives you more balloon to play with so a good idea Dan.
I just used the excess from the eyes to use as paws or stand depending what you see.
:D Glad to see that a few have decided to join in at last. Don't forget you still have until tomorrow to make yours. It doesn't hurt or take a long time honest!!
Well the votes are all in and counted. Thank you to both Graham and Sean for joining in this week.
I love the little adaption you have made adding the feet/slippers Graham they look really cool. However the winner this week has to be Sean.
Look forward to your challenge. :D :D
Congratulations to Sean. I can see a theme coming on here, twice I've entered with only two entries and twice I have finished last.
Just lucky I'm thick skinned otherwise I would need to go into therapy ;)
I wouldn't have said last....2nd maybe but never last :D
I WON?!!!! I'd like to thank everyone who has made this possible... etc. etc....
Ok, so I am not positive of the rules. If I make a mistake, correct me. In the most public and embarrassing way possible (this message is from my wife). This is a revamp of a model I was making at a fair this passed weekend. As I was driving around I thought of a way to make it faster. Last night I tried it and I liked the result.

I didn't have the right colour balloons so I'm afraid mines a bit of a white elephant! I hope I haven't embarrassed myself too much by having a go anyway.
Wow Helen, looks good.
So far, you're the clear winner!
I only had white rounds too
Lisa
This is my effort and keeping up the tradition not exactly the same, I used a 646 for the body and as I had some yellow 321 already opened used these for the tusks.
Nice.
I like your modifications.
When does this round end? Is it one week or until Friday (today)?
Shall we give it till Monday as it did start late this week?
That works for me.
I know Thelma is diligently working on her submission and probably needs the weekend to complete it.
Thelma is away on holiday at the moment in America, I think she is home tomorrow sometime.
Hi guys and gals!!
Sorry it's been a while, been busy, sadly not work related  .
Here is my attempt..
I had some time at last so was able to have a go at this, it is also the weekend so beer was available hence a 'pink elephant' it is :D :D :D

That's no excuse :D

Apologies for the quality of the photo only had camera phone available.
No need to apologise, it's just nice that you took the time to join in so thanks.
Hi Sean!!
:D :D You need to pick a winner today!! :D :D
Thank You for a great design! ;)
Everyone did a great job and it's really hard to choose. I'm going to go with Lisa Chester as the weiner this round. Congrats Lisa! The next round is on you I guess.
Thanks Sean - I hoped you meant "winner" I'm going to go with that :D
Here's this week's round
BTW, does anyone know how to put the pictures side by side, under your text?
My effort for the Parrot;

Hahahaha. woops.
Congrats on the win Lisa! Your model nearly stumped me - it's the first parrot I've ever twisted. Anyway here's my go.
(Love the colours on yours Graham.)
Hi Lisa.
Sorry it had to be a quick version. Time is not on my side at the moment.
Dear All,
Today Is the Last Day of this fantastic Balloon Snap Competition, So the winner of this weeks competition will be the first person to start a new exciting competition. Which I will be announcing next week!!!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part in this competition!!
Best Regards!
Balloon Chat Staff!!
. . . and the winner is . . . Helen! Well done
Graham, I love your version - much more realistic
So Helen, sounds like you need to await further instructions from Kenny
2nd again Graham!
Well I could have been 3rd this time, I'm not sure I'm going to join in any more :( ;)
Oh Graeham, you must join in !!!!!
Here is the new competition, recreate this clown of mine.
Looking foreward to seeing the entrants :D :D :D
Hallo Kevin,
here is my attempt:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us (//http://imageshack.us)
This evening I will give it as a gift to my friends' little boy.
Take care.
Anna
My attempt, would be nice to get a few more entering the competitions.
I would enter the competitions but i have no computer (using internet on phone) so i cant upload pictures. If the site could accept pics from mobiles like facebook and other sites it would be so much easier. Sorri for the rant. Love the clowns by the way
My first attempt
here my attempt
Well after a slow start, thank you all for joining in, and thank you for posting your clowns.
Two main tricky bits were joining the hands to the arms, with a marriage twist, Nearly everyone did that. Ian, you were just pipped to the winning post by using pinch twists :(
The other point was joining the nose/eyes, without anny joining bubbles showing (Graham :o )
So the winner has to be ...................MR.WIGGLE :D :D :D :D :D
You have to put up your original design for the next competition.
Special points for being fabulous, and the first entrant supporting Kenny in these fun competitions goes to Anna, from Italy. Just missed out by having an un- needed pinch twist at the neck, but never mind, If you get over to England there is a big bit of cake just for you !!!!!!!!!!!
Over to you Mr Wiggle :D
Hi Kevin, I thought you used a heart for the head and just coloured one of the lobes that was twisted for the nose. Well done to everyone that joined in.
Hi kevin
Thanks for choosing me, then it dawned on me that i had to make something ugh. So here go's
My first attempt at a snake using more than one 260 and instructions to follow? in fact 2x5inc rounds for eyes 1x646 for head 7x 260 body and head 1x 321 for tail, hope this is ok let's see if we can get more people involved
How long do i wait to choose a winner?
sorry could only upload in portrait
Hi Mr Wiggle,
I do like that snake :D :D
Unfortunatly I can't have a go as I don't have any 646's, but good luck to anyone that takes part !!!!!
Hi Kevin, thank you, consider your offer as accepted (although, at present, I'm not planning to come over to England).
Mr. Wiggle, nice snake! I have only red and white 646 so I'd be forced to change the colors, if this doesn't represent a problem I could give it a try.
Await your news. Thanks
Hi Anna that no problem would be good to see how it looks. It's great to see that you are taking part. :)
Kevin you could use a soft round for the head it would be fantastic to see any design and your interpretations. I have heard it doesn't put graham off changing the design :) and if not we could say snap on the name kevin.
many thanks kevin
My attempt at your snake Kevin,
By having the 160's on one side on top of each other it made for a natural curve or if you just had them side by side on both sides of the body you could have the snake straight.
Graham, love your version of the snake, the face and tail looks good. Don't want to put mockers on you but you're in the number one position at the moment. :D
kevin
Hallo,
here is my version:
(//http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/357/011de.jpg) (//http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/97/011de.jpg/)
Uploaded with ImageShack.us (//http://imageshack.us)
I tried and do it as similar to the original as possible.
Bye.
Anna,
That looks fantastic very close to the original. It looks like you could break graham heart again.
kevin
Hi it that time of the week, Kenny asked me to choose a winner today. So drum roll ............... tension is mounting in second place Graham with his own interpretation, but the winner this week has to go to Anna as she used the same tail and chain weave. :D
Congratulations, so it over to you Anna good luck with your design and hopefully their will be a couple more entries.
Many thanks Kevin
Oh no not 2nd again :o
Ahahahah sorry Graham! Anyway, it's not that satisfactory to be the winner among two (only).
My proposal is this personal version of a butterfly using the loop weave technique by Sabina Kellner for the wings.
Hope to see quite a few versions of yours. Thank you.
