I have been busy the last few months hiding away in my little cave and working on new material.  Aside from teaching some of my classic Mad Hatz & Wild Wearable's, I will be teaching my brand new, never before seen Hulk, Iron Man, and Wolverine Hats and Looney Tunes Bracelets that take only 2 to 3 minutes each, characters from the new movie Up, and for the very first time ever, I will be teaching my Roger Rabbit back pack.

Hi there Buster Balloon!!

At the risk of sounding like a simpering fool, I cant wait to meet you next week and learn how to make some of your creations.
I have only been twisting for a couple of months and did my first gig last monday at a friends bar/restaurant so any inspiration I can get at this stage would be brilliant.

Im soo excited about the Wolverine balloon, he's my all-time favourite character!

If you are bringing the DVD's how much will they be? As I have to start stealing from my wifes purse. (Heres all the stereotypical scouse jokes coming and most of them are true) and smuggle money out of the house.

Some good news about the day.

As I'm sure many of you know the day is dedicated to a very good friend who died four years ago. The idea being it keeps his name in the balloon world and generates some interest for the DVd's that I sell with all monies raised going to his family.
Well I invited David's wife Vanessa to the day a few weeks back and have just spoken to her and I'm pleased to say she will be attending the day which I have to say has really cheered me up and brought a smile to my face  

Just off to the airport to pick Don up   the flights on time.
A slight worry is the flight number he gave me is not the same as the flight coming in this morning???
Ho hum, fingers crossed

Due to not having enough space in the small van I have, we will not be bringing the full sempertex stock with us so anyone that is coming to the day and needs anything could you please PM me with your order so that I can bring it up for you, thanks

The cars loaded and I'm just off to pick Don up from the airport again after his weekend in Amsterdam and the lecture for Dennis and Ingrid. Goodness knows what state he will be in after going from one coffee shop to another over there :lol:
And then it's straight up to Birmingham for the lecture tomorrow, we're having the aftertnoon at Thelma's so I expect we'll do a bit of brain storming so should be fun

It's Don Day    Yes today is the day.
Just having a cup of tea in my luxurious travelodge hotel room and checking the forum and emails incase there are any last minute problems, but everything seems OK at the moment.

We had a lovely afternoon at Thelma's yesterday. After a really nice lunch that Thelma cooked for us we had a walk along the canal's and saw some locks, there we're 32 in all but once Don and I had seen 5 we thought we'd more or less seen them all   So we then headed off to a really nice pub for some afternoon drinks and then out for a meal in the evening, a realy lovely day.

So fingers crossed we'll have another great day today  

Back from 'Don Day' a while ago... what a fantastic day :!:  :!:  :!:

Don had us twisting all day long to his 'Big 4' and various other Don inspired and David inspired creations. Don also enthralled us with a constant stream of eclectic tales throughout the day.

I would really like to thank Don & Graham for their effort in making today a success. I have enjoyed all of the previous C&S days and balloon lectures I have attended but this really was in a class of its own.

We where there too and have to say a great day was had by all. Good company, excellent models hands on and demonstrated and lots of information and fun.  Topped off with catching up with Vanessa and a nice meal afterwards.

I'm also just back from the Don day, I enjoyed myself immensely. The ride in car was my favourite that I will definitely use sometime.

Thanks to everyone who came to the day and gave up there time and money to invest in themselves, hoping that the day will help you grow as an entertainer and performer and increase your income so making the day worthwhile for you.

Congratulations to Danny for winning Don's DVD 4 and apologies for leaving it in my computer so that I couldn't present it to you on the day.

It was very nice of Don to donate this to the day as only 22 we're ever printed due to a problem with one of the models and some unexplained legal action although viewing the DVD I can see where the miss-understanding could come from. It's a shame really as there is some nice usable material on the DVD that I'm sure would have become classic's by now.

We we're also privileged to have for the first and only time ever Don explaining and showing how Roger rabbit was constructed, both this and the DVD raffle we're in honour of David Grist who the day was all about.

The meal after was lovely and it was great to catch up with both my ladies of the night (I can't explain this, you just had to be there as it was just so funny) but for me the highlight and special moment of the day that just made it for me was having Vanessa make the very difficult train journey down to be with us on this special occasion, so thanks Vanessa for taking the time and trouble to be at the day
