I have spent the day getting product into the house and ready for loading the car up for our travels up to Blackpool later in the week.
We are off to the magic convention that is on from Friday 18th till Sunday 20th February and then travelling home on the Monday.
It's all go at the moment, looking forward to spending time with Rob Driscoll who has kindly volunteered to help me out on the stand this year.
We are both running lecture/workshops as well so that will be fun and possibly a little stressful as well.
And yes we will be taking pictures along the way and we will post a few on our return.
If anyone wanted details of the event this is their website, https://blackpoolmagicconvention.com/
Many thanks to all who came along to see us on the stand at the Blackpool Magic convention and who attended my lecture/workshops.
Very much appreciated, nice to see everyone XXxx.
Special thanks to Rob Driscoll, or was that Wendie for helping out and spending six days with me
on the stand and with the balloon build etc, he probably deserves a medal................
Thanks Rob, appreciated XXxx.
So from last week, Tuesday loading the car and then with it all piled high and off we went on the road trip to Blackpool.
We arrived around 4pm on the Wed and set the stand so we could spend all day Thursday building the design for the stand.
The start of the car build, this was Thursday morning 17th February. We started with the wheels.
We decided to make the car a different way to normal, usually we cut out the arch for the wheel in the side weave of the car.
But decided to make the wheel small at top and larger at bottom so it just sat against the side weave.
We were not sure if it would work but it seemed to be not to bad, as usual we would try something a little different next time.
I think you can see the look of the wheel better on picture 13 and how it will fit onto side of the car.
Then it was onto the weave of the car frame.
It was starting to look like a castle, well we thought so, he he.
Don't panic, its all under control ;D
This was for the sides of the car.
Putting the front grill section in for the car and designing the front bumper.
It's starting to come together and looking like the front of a car.
It was coming together, this was on the Friday morning.
We tried 4 or 5 variations on a steering wheel till we come up with something we were happy with.
The grille was to small, we made this larger later on in the day.
It's finally coming together ;D Took a little longer than anticipated.
We did try a few variations for the style of the number plate as well,
Then Rob added, GR 22 for Graham and Rob and then the year.
Then a few pictures of designs we made for the stand.
I think it was Roy who made Rob a very nice bow tie from my business cards ;D ;D
Rob made the Koala and top hat with letters.
As the car took us a while to make we did not have as many designs on the stand as we usually do.
Plus we had to both go off to run our lecture/workshops so had even less time on the stand this year.
Just a few more pictures to go from the magic convention. Lots did come around to have their pictures taken driving the car.
It was interesting to see peoples reactions when they got behind the wheel of the car.
These are the last of the pictures that I took from the magic convention.
Rob made Mirabel from Encanto.
