It was a great day yesterday and I left the event inspired as always!  It was great to meet up with old friends, and to make new ones.  Thanks again to you and Lynn, and to Shirley for a thoroughly enjoyable and fun day.

Wow looks like everyone had a fantastic day! Shirley is a legend in my book and it was her first DVD that really hooked me on balloon modelling and took me beyond single balloon dogs and swords. Even now many of her designs such as Buzz Lightyear (oh sorry Spaceman) and her wonderful princess designs are the most popular for the birthday parties I do. I really wish I could have come along to the day but it was just a little too far.

I really love the Fantasia Sorcerer's Apprentice broomstick. If that was combined with a decent Mickey Mouse that would make a really impressive display. Looking at the broomstick I cannot figure out how the arms are attached to the main body. Logic tells me they are glued as to do a raisin twist halfway along the body of a 350Q seems near impossible. Can anyone explain?

The magic wand's head is based upon Shirley's Lumiere candlestick from Beauty and the Beast (see my attempt) - that's one worth making.



I have every Shirley DVD and instruction book from her website. Did she have any new material for sale?

Got to say this day was the best money I have spent this and last year.It was well organized and Grahame and Shirley and all the rest of the staff made it run smoothly.
i met some members on here too Aidie,Jordan,and Neil,all of which I would like to express my warmest thanks to as they made me V welcome and took me under their wings as I am a novice twister.
I am in the above photos (I am the chubby cheeked fella with the navy polo shirt on getting advice of Neil).

Yeah the broom arms are raisin twists, 2 little bobbles dropped in the balloon 1st! Suppose you could just put 2 pinch twists in the 350 and that would create another point, but wont look as neat!

She did have all her DVD's on sale, and had a few other people's too!
