Booked my place today. Does the venue have parking? Really looking forward to it. Looking forward to making some new friends
Hi Graham, I am flying over on the 7th for the Busfest, so I might pop in. Is it near Birmingham airport? I am on foot or will be catching as bus to it.
Hi Kenny, It's the Halesowen venue for the Levett and lee road show.
I think that is a 25 pound taxi ride away from the airport but you may need to double check.
Thanks for the info Graham, but I think I am going to pass this time, 50 pound extra for me is too much. Hope the day goes well. ;)
You might be able to get a train or bus Kenny or someone might be able to pick you up.
If someone could pick me up that would be great....
Any takers :D
Having not been to one of these events before, I'm unsure of what kind of balloons it will be best to bring along. Just 260s? or should I bring some others?

Just bring your normal set up with you, anything too out of the ordinary we will supply.
Great thanks. I wonder if I ordered some balloons if you'd be happy to bring them to the day for me?

Thanks.

Sent PM Graham. :D
Hi Graham, I've just placed an order, it would be great to pick it up next week in Birmingham - but no worries of thats not possible. Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier - I have been away. Many thanks
I've gone in my big balloon bag and grabbed a load of different coloured balloons - maybe about 100 or so, will this suffice for tomorrow? I've got a few rounds to bring too along with some 160s

Sorry Ben only just seen your question here. For others who might read this just bring along 260's
We supply all the other shapes/sizes etc.
Thank you to all those that attended the day yesterday and helped with getting stock in and out and
bringing along a few nibbles as well, much appreciated. It was nice to see quite a few new faces.
A special thanks to those that laughed through the first session where I was explaining the balloons and
funny lines/bit's of business that I use during my balloon and magic shows, thanks to Amanda for writing
down all the class notes ;) funny lines and top tips. I enjoyed the day so fingers crossed others did as well.
I will start posting some pictures ASAP.
Thanks for a great day Graham and Thelma. It was good to be back at a balloon day and I hope to get to them more often!
Thanks Graham ana Thelma...
Had a great day!!
I took some pictures - poor Graham didn't have his proper camera on due to 'fatigue?'
Yes there is motion blur on some of these images, but that adds to the atmosphere
Thelmas Car:

I didn't take a good enough picture of the shield, but I took a picture of the Spidey plane

Some of us had a play with side wall bubbles, and Thelma showed a quick example of what she likes to do with them. Here is Thelmas Flamingo (and some motion blur)

I've read somewhere that there is a limit of 3 photos per post - so..
Back Packs:
All three photos of backpacks that I took from the event
Ok - so they are all on their side -hmmm
GL Admin, I turned them around for you.
1, Our villain is fully armed to spray his victims with marshmallows
2, Rocket backpack with furious flames propelling the pilot forward
3, Rocket backpack from the front, with an arm spinner on the ground
and now for a big dinosaur from Thelma
And a DVD/CD base for flower by Thelma yet again
And now the 2 balloon cat
There was debate about whether the cat or the bunny were 2 balloon creations
Graham, in a fit of camera rage thrust Thelmas Samsung phone in front, and I really like the effect. I hope you do to
Now - instead of popping all the balloons, I was going to travel about 2.4 miles away to perform in a comedy club in Cradley Heath
They've seen my balloon work previously and I wanted to share these creations with them - they all went to good homes
Here's one of the punters - goes by the name of Rebecca
20170907_232233.jpg[/attachment:3vs8vm6h]
Bev had a bar code free dinosaur with motion blur, and in her other hand a 360 maggot
Dave was overjoyed with the one cylinder backpack, and he proceeded to spray his love around the room with this latex creation (of Grahams)
20170907_233224.jpg[/attachment:3hzzpn5h]
And Cal is shown here overjoyed after cracking this labrynth hat single headedly

Graham doing his thang!! :D
Thanks for posting some pictures Silent Al, appreciated.
I will turn them so they are the right way up.
I will post my pictures form the day but after I have up-loaded all the ones from the Scotland day first.
I like to post them in the order I took them, a little OCD.
Had a great day learning lots. As a relative noob, my brains were totally scramble at the end! Great to meet everyone too!
The start of the pictures that I took on Thelma's phone as my camera broke on the Monday night
before our first day that took place in Airdrie.
I did a 75 minute first session and these were the only pictures taken.
It was more about the bit's of business and funny lines used while
making the designs that we were more concerned with.
Julie joining in the fun and ready for cupid's arrow.
I have already used the shield design that Thelma showed at the day.
It went over very well in the real world, mind you it went over very well at the day as well.
It was then onto the 350 plane.
Planes everywhere.
Still planes, or is it a hat on Steve?
The plane made with two 260's. Thelma's nice car design.
A close up of the plane.
Some of the entries for the competition later on in the day.
The design had to have a heart included.
It was then onto the new rabbit design.
There were a few rabbit's about.
Tracey loved Thelma's back pack gun.
Thelma and I did a little section called stereo, we both made the same design
but our own variations on the back pack.
Tracey is wearing Thelma's design and Paul wore my effort.
Then both our car designs.
A few of the competition pieces getting ready.
Then it was competition time.
I think Amanda had three entries.
Thelma had two entries, can you see the sparkle on the unicorn body?
I always enjoy the competition entries and seeing what idea's people come up with.
All entries had to have a 6" heart in the design.
The prizes were so stunning that some people entered more than once.
Thanks to everyone who enters the competitions, I think it helps the days to be what they are :)
The last entries for the competition.
And the winner was...........................................................Steve,
There was a T-shirt, bag of balloons and all my scraps as the winning prize.
Thanks to everyone who joined in.
It was then onto dinosaurs and dragons.
The dragon a little closer up.
More designs from Thelma.
The last of the pictures from Birmingham.
Thanks to all who attended the day, hope you picked up a few tips and enjoyed the day.
